Just months after welcoming her first child, Kapamilya actress Loisa Andalio has returned to the spotlight through her newest film, Midnight Girls, alongside Jodi Sta. Maria, Jane Oineza, and Sanya Lopez.
On Instagram, Loisa reflected on the deeper message behind the film, which explores sacrifice, survival, and empathy.
“Midnight Girls is a film that reminds us to look beyond what we see on the surface. Minsan..mabilis tayong manghusga ng ibang tao without really knowing the pain, sacrifices, and struggles behind everything they go through,” she wrote.
Loisa also shared how the film mirrors the experiences of many Filipinos who leave their families behind in search of better opportunities abroad.
“Isa rin itong kwento ng maraming Pilipino na napipilitang mangibang-bansa at mawalay sa pamilya dahil sa hirap ng buhay at kakulangan ng oportunidad dito sa atin.. Ito ay kuwento ng realidad kung saan hindi lahat may privilege na piliin ang buhay na gusto nila. May mga taong napipilitang magsakripisyo, tumanda agad, at isantabi ang sariling pangarap para mabuhay at maitaguyod ang pamilya,” she added.
The actress went on to honor hardworking individuals who continue to fight despite life’s challenges.
“Mga taong araw-araw ginagawa ang kanilang best para mag-survive—mga taong may pangarap din, napapagod, nasasaktan, at nawawala rin minsan, pero patuloy na bumabangon at lumalaban para sa sarili nila at sa mga mahal nila sa buhay,” she expressed.
Reminding everyone to be more compassionate, Loisa expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the project.

In the film, Loisa plays Wanna, a 20-year-old Filipina who travels to Japan and works as a hostess at a Japanese bar.
Written and directed by Irene Villamor, Midnight Girls is set in Nagoya, Japan and follows four Filipina entertainers who form a strong sisterhood while dealing with the emotional cost of their jobs and their dreams.
During a guest appearance on It’s Showtime, Jodi shared why audiences can easily connect with the characters and their struggles.
"Napaka-relatable ng mga situation, nagkataon lang na ang frontliners dito ay mga babae sa Japan, pero 'yung nangyayari sa kanila ay nangyayari din sa bawat isa. Kung ikaw ay nanay, alam mo ang tema ng sakripisyo. Kung ikaw ang tao na gusto mong siguraduhin kung sino ka, makaka-relate ka sa istorya n Saki (Jane). If you are the type of person na pera muna bago lahat, makaka-relate ka sa story ni Paris (Sanya). At kung ikaw 'yung bata na ehemplo mo 'yung mga tao sa paligid mo at kung paano ka nila naimpluwensiyahan, makaka-relate ka kay Wanna (Loisa)," she said.

Meanwhile, Jane and Sanya revealed during an interview with Boy Abunda that they underwent a real-life immersion to better understand what it is like working in an omise or Japanese bar.
“Hindi kami nagstart na parang nagpakilala kami as artista. As in, nagstart kami dun, pinangunahan siya ni Ate Jodi and then nung second day, triny na namin,” Sanya expressed.
“Yung bar na yun, yun talaga yung kakilala natin yung owner pero yung mga customer nila, hindi nila alam na artista kami. Akala nila mga bago kaming pasok–– mga bagong salta,” Jane added.
Midnight Girls is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
