YSpeak 2.0 hosts Elijah Canlas, KD Estrada, Ralph de Leon, Aya Fernandez, River Joseph, and Robbie Jaworski recently underwent a workshop in preparation for their upcoming hosting stint.
Fr. Tito Caluag shared a glimpse of the session on social media, highlighting the lineup of speakers who guided the young hosts.
"Whole day workshop for YSpeak 2.0 with Elijah, KD, Ralph, Aya, River and Robbie. Sessions with Dr. Leloy Claudio, Ryan Agoncillo, Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, Luchi Cruz-Valdes, Gretchen Ho, and Manolo Quezon," he wrote.
He added: "Thanks to Stellar Team of Chit G. and Direk Alco G and the Caritas Philippines, Magna Anima Teachers College and Three Monkeys Cafe Teams. JOURNEYS OF HOPE WILL FEATURE SCENES FROM THIS DAY."
Meanwhile, Gretchen Ho shared more behind-the-scenes moments from the workshop on Instagram, where she spoke about mentoring the new hosts.
"Had the chance yesterday to share some of my experiences with the new YSpeak 2.0 hosts, especially my transition from the world of sports to covering hard news," she relayed. "Sa panahon ngayon, napakadaling mag-post at magsalita tungkol sa mga isyu. Pero mas mahirap hanapin ang katotohanan at makita ito mula sa iba’t ibang punto de bista."
The television host shared that the YSpeak 2.0 hosts took part in several activities.
"We had a short sharing session and a practice debate, and we were able to give the new YSpeak hosts some feedback on how discussions can be made more meaningful and insightful," she stated. "GOOD energy in the room. Sa una, pormal at nahihiya pa. Pero the hosts reaaaally got into it after warming up a bit! Ang tatalino!! Congratulations."
She added: "Excited to watch and hear you all as you represent the voice of this generation’s youth. ✨"
YSpeak 2.0 will premiere on May 2.
'YSpeak' to make a comeback this year, new hosts revealed
It was in January when Fr. Tito announced YSpeak's return.
"YSpeak will be a civics education and formation program focusing primarily on the youth as its main audience. It will air in different platforms across two networks. It will have on ground partnerships through the social action centers of Caritas Philippines," Fr. Tito shared at that time.
YSpeak was a flagship program of Studio 23, previously hosted by Bianca Gonzalez, Ryan Agoncillo, and Karen Davila. It aired on weekends and became one of the channel’s most awarded local productions.
