Wowing audiences with her character Mia Hernandez’s drop-dead gorgeous and stylish outfits in every episode of the top-rated series It’s Okay To Not Be Okay, Anne Curtis shared that the standard for her look was first inspired by the look of the original lead, Seo Yea-ji, who played Ko Moon-young in the 2020 South Korean series of the same name. Anne talked about personally making sure her look onscreen was up to standard during the show’s finale presscon held last September 25 inside ABS-CBN.
“Being a fan of the original, I wanted to make sure our adaptation would live up to the expectations of everyone who loved her outfits, Ko Moon-young’s outfits. So for Mia Hernandez, we wanted to make some of them larger than life, but with a Filipino touch, especially during her dark era. I worked very closely with some of the best Filipino designers. You’ll be able to see, especially for the iconic scenes, we made sure that they were Filipino designers. They gave it their interpretation. You’ll see a barong dress, you’ll see a Filipino mantel, you’ll see a Cary Santiago, may banig, pero hindi pa yata pinapalabas ’yon – but there’s an Ivar (Aseron) banig dress. There’s a Cary Santiago dress na ’yun ‘yung ‘I love you scene’, ‘yung ‘mahal kita’ scene, inspired by the wooden pieces of Filipino doors. And of course, we also chose international designers.” she said.
Anne, who has long been hailed as one of the country’s fashion icons, lived up to expectations with the stylish outfits she wore as Mia Hernandez. From hair and makeup to her entire ensemble, Anne carried each outfit with elegance, giving justice both to the standards set by the show and the artistry brought forth by the Filipino designers.

Anne added that she made sure to collaborate closely with series director Mae Cruz Alviar with everything she wore in front of the cameras. “Working alongside Direk Mae Cruz, we made sure that the palettes were correct. You could see from the choice of fabrics – it went from stiff to softness as she starts healing in her journey. So everything was intentional,” she added.
