MANILA -- Rising singer-songwriter Jarlo Base is the winner for the third round of the brand new season of "Your Face Sounds Familiar."
Base's transformation as actor-recording artist Jericho Rales earned praises from judges and his fellow celebrity performers who enjoyed his "Pusong Ligaw," performance. Aside from plaque, he also took home P50,000.
"Favorite ko ito sa performances mo. Nakuha ni Jarlo ang artist na si Echo. Parang closer. Kasi ang forte niya RnB but it's a bit closer than 'yung mga nagawa mo na. I'm very glad kasi lumutang. Mas simple ang pag-deliver niya Echong-Echo 'di ba? I'm so happy for you. Thank you for that performance," juror Sharon Cuneta said.
"Noong gagawin mo si Echo sabi ko since sobrang lapit na sa iyo feeling ko magiging okay lang. Kasi kapag malapit na sa iyo wala ng effort, tingin ko okay lang. Alam mo sobrang maling-mali ako. Parang talagang hinanap mo, lahat nang maliliit na detalye. And I'm so happy kasi finally nage-enjoy ka na dito sa 'Your Face Sounds Familiar' and tuloy-tuloy na ito. Congratulations, ang galing," guest judge/mentor Nyoy Volante said after Base's performance on Saturday night.
"I'm so happy for you. Ito na 'yon, ini-enjoy mo na talaga. Sobrang kitang-kita na kumportable ka na sa stage. Kaya nang lumabas ka ay natural lahat, very Jericho Rosales. Tuloy-tuloy mo lang 'yan. Tuloy-tuloy mo lang pakawalan ang confidence na 'yan, 'yung laban, 'yung fire. Tuloy-tuloy mo lang 'yan, congratulations," guest judge/mentor Klarisse de Guzman said.
Juror Ogie Alcasid added: "Lahat kami sobrang masaya para sa iyo. Kasi sa lahat ng celebrity performers lagi naming inaasam na magkaroon sila ng breakthrough performance 'yung performance na 'ayun!' Huli niya na 'yung comfort zone na sinasabi nila. Ito 'yon para sa iyo. You left no crumbs, my friend."
Base won the newest round after receiving a total score of 33 from the jurors and his fellow celebrity performers.
"Una po sa lahat maraming salamat po sa jury, sa friends ko," Base said after winning the third round.
"Kanina po laking tulong ng smile na nakita ko sa inyo before ako nag-(perform), family talaga. Thank you," Base added.
Alexa Ilacad had the second highest score with 27 points, followed by the duo of JM dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano with 21 points. JM performed solo after Marielle missed their duet due to a health emergency.
Next week, Dia Mate will transform as Billie Eilish, Akira Morishita will be Gloc-9, Rufa Mae Quinto will be Moira, Pepe Herrera will be Vhong Navarro, Tawag ng Tanghalan Duets champion JM and Marielle will transform as Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and Base will be John Legend.
Jason Dy and Alexa Ilacad will be doing the battle of one icon as they are both will transform into one icon -- Britney Spears.
"Yes iisa lang talaga ang gagayahin niyo," host Vhong Navarro said.
"Yan kasi ang isa sa twist ng season na ito. Sa inyo natapast.' Yan ang battle of one icon. Dahil pwedeng makakuha nang iisang icon ang higit sa iisang celebrity performer. 'Di ba brand new season, maraming twist," host Jhong Hilario explained.
The brand new season of "Your Face Sounds Familiar" airs on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live and A2Z. Viewers can also catch it on TV5 every Saturday, at 8:15 p.m. and Sundays, at 8:30 p.m..
