New-generation actors Angelina Cruz and Robbie Jaworski make their television debut as onscreen pair in the Kapamilya crime-thriller series The Alibi. The two expressed gratitude and excitement for being part of the star-studded ensemble led by Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.

During the show’s media conference, Angelina shared how meaningful it was to work alongside Kim and Paulo, especially since her mother, Sunshine Cruz, had previously worked with Kim in past projects.

“This project is such a fulfilling experience and I’m very thankful to have worked with KimPau, especially Ate Kim who already worked with my mom before. When they worked for that project, my mom never stopped talking with Ate Kim; she loved Ate Kim. The moment I worked with her, I already got it. Napakagaan ng aura ng set and ng cast. Everyone has patience and every single day is something new,” she expressed.

The young actress also described the experience as a “full-circle moment,” noting how many of her co-stars had also worked with members of her family.

“I feel like almost every cast here, my family has worked with. So this project has been a full circle moment, especially Robbie, my scene partner, because my dad has worked with his mom in previous projects,” she added.

In The Alibi, Angelina plays Katherine Morales, the younger sister of Kim Chiu’s character. She admitted that the role was challenging because it required her to speak entirely in Tagalog.

“But I feel like this is also how I’m able to grow as an artist and as an actor, because I’m able to step out of the box and out of my comfort zone,” she said in an interview in the Kapamilya Chat.

For newcomer Robbie Jaworski, being part of The Alibi was both nerve-wracking and inspiring, as his very first scene as an actor was opposite Paulo Avelino.

“It’s such a blessing to be part of this cast,” he said. “The first scene I have ever done with Kuya Pau was the first scene I ever took as an actor in my life. Sobra akong kinabahan. In my head, I was like ‘Oh my god! It is Paulo Avelino in front of me.’ All the lights and the camera, I was so nervous.”

Despite the pressure, Robbie said the experience turned out to be a valuable learning journey.

“But at the same time, as a fresh actor, I feel so incredibly blessed because during the lock in cycle, we got to establish certain dynamics or relationships with each cast member. I feel so privileged na, for example, nagkaroon kami ng medyo mahabang kwento session with Sir John Arcilla. Before I knew it, I've been given valuable wisdom — such easter eggs of information and knowledge about acting that I surely will carry on for the rest of my life,” he added.

Robbie also credited Angelina for making him feel more comfortable on set, as they often worked together during workshops and scenes.

“It was an intimidating experience but dahil magkasama kami ni Angelina — even sa workshops, sa mga eksena — having a buddy there, someone beside me, was really helpful and really [made the work] more comfortable,” he expressed.

Robbie portrays Edward Cabrera, the youngest child of the wealthy Cabrera family. In a previous interview with Kapamilya Chat, he revealed that he drew inspiration from his real-life younger brother.

“My youngest brother, si Renzo, in-interview ko siya. I assessed him. Tinanong ko ‘yung mga magulang ko kung ano ‘yung tendencies ni Renzo,” he explained.

Angelina is the daughter of actors Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano, while Robbie is the eldest son of former actress and TV host Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski and former PBA player–turned-politician Robert Jaworski Jr.
