MANILA -- ABS-CBN's hit series "Lavender Fields," starring Jodi Sta. Maria, is now down to its last two weeks.

On Monday, January 6, Sta. Maria and her co-stars Jericho Rosales, Janine Gutierrez and Jolina Magdangal attended the media conference for the show's finale.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News and other members of entertainment media, Sta. Maria, who plays the title character, shared how she wants the viewers to remember the series.

"Sa totoo lang with each character na napanood ninyo, natin, nila sa 'Lavender Fields,' I'm sure mayroong lesson na ini-impart. Whether it be a good lesson, whether not so good lesson but it's still a lesson. For me siguro parang 'yung fact na in reality all of us wear masks. We wear masks for a reason and kung anuman ang reason na 'yon kumbaga nasa sa atin na lang 'yon," Sta Maria said.

"We wear masks sometimes because we want to be able to fight for and protect those who are important to us but we can not wear those masks forever. At one point we have to take off the mask and allow ourselves to be vulnerable and parang also celebrate our authentic self na hindi rin naman masama na i-reveal natin 'yung totoo nating pagkatao," she added.

Sta. Maria said she's just blessed to be given a show and a character she has never done before.

"I must say hindi siya naging madali, very challenging siya but at the same time nakakatuwa 'yung ganoong klaseng experiences kasi doon tayo natututo. Ang dami kong natutunanan sa show na ito. I'm blessed to have worked with excellent and talented people. Thank you sa lahat ng mga nakasama ko. It was a beautiful journey. I'm not going to say na naging madali pero sabi nila the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. So I think 'yun din ang special about 'Lavender Fields.' Kahit sabihin mo may challenges along the way pero 'yon din 'yung naglabas noong creativity, artistry at kung anuman ang kailangan sa mga role namin," she said.

The actress admitted that the show's action scenes were not easy to do.

"We spent hours, days, choreographing the scenes bago namin siya i-shoot," Sta. Maria said.

"It was a good experience. It was challenging, yes, pero for me it was a unique experience na nagawa ko sa ilang years ko sa industry," she added.

For Sta. Maria, some of the memorable scenes she will remember were moments with Lotlot de Leon, who played her mother; when her character gave birth; and her scenes with Zandro (Albert Martinez).

"I think isa sa scene na sobrang hirap na hirap ako 'yung nanganak siya (si Jasmin) kasi she's in hiding but then kailangan niyang manganak and how do you give birth without even creating a sound. Excruciating 'yung pain ng childbirth and then you are not allowed to make a sound. So parang napaka-implosive lang ng emotions," Sta. Maria said.

After "Lavender Fields," Sta. Maria is planning to "try something new."

"For now I will be taking like a short break from the serye. Kasi dire-diretso din. I also need to recharge and reenergize and to fill my creative juices. Kasi darating ka rin sa you run out of ideas kailangan mo lang din na may parte ng life mo na mapuno. This year also is a year of my continuing my studies," said Sta. Maria, who finished college in 2021.

Jodi Sta. Maria says 'Lavender Fields' more than just a revenge drama
