MANILA -- Screen veteran Charo Santos complimented "FPJ's Batang Quiapo" lead star Coco Martin, whom she described as "a true total package" being an actor, director and show producer.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Santos uploaded snaps taken from the grand Kapamilya welcome for Martin and "Batang Quiapo" team in ABS-CBN.
In the caption, Santos said the grand welcome was a reminder of the importance of the series not only to the people of "Batang Quiapo" but to all the fans and viewers of the show.
"Two years of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo and counting! What an honor it is to be part of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo for two incredible years. Our anniversary celebration was a beautiful reminder of how much this show means—not just to us, but to the fans who continue to support our stories. From the heroes’ welcome at the ELJ Building, to the storycon with my talented co-stars at the Dolphy Theater, every moment was full of energy and joy. With new characters joining us, Year 3 is bound to be even more exciting," Santos shared.
She then gave a special salute to Martin for his exceptional talent and passion as an actor, director and producer..
"A true total package as an actor, director, and producer whose dedication and generosity uplift everyone around him. His passion for storytelling and his giving heart continue to inspire us all. Maraming salamat, Kapamilya, for the unwavering love and support! Nagmamahal, Tindeng," Santos added.
In "Batang Quiapo," Santos plays the character of Tindeng, the grandmother of lead character Tanggol (Martin).
Last Tuesday, January 28, Martin, along with his co-stars including Santos, McCoy de Leon, John Estrada, Cherry Pie Picache and Christopher de Leon, received a warm welcome and roaring applause from their fellow Kapamilyas as the hit action series "Batang Quiapo" celebrated its second anniversary.
In the grand Kapamilya welcome, new cast members were also revealed.
Some of the stars joining "Batang Quiapo" are Andrea Brillantes, Jake Cuenca, Angel Aquino, Albie Casiño, Juan Rodrigo, Paolo Paraiso, Gillian Vicencio, Shamaine Buencamino and screen veterans Michael de Mesa, Albert Martinez, Dante Rivero, Chanda Romero, Celia Rodriguez.

"FPJ's Batang Quiapo" which debuted in February 2023 airs weeknights at 8 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, Cinemo, A2Z, and TV5. It's also available on iWantTFC and TFC.
