The Nation’s Girl Group BINI is set to take the stage at Coachella during its first weekend, performing at the Mojave Stage this Friday, April 10 (April 11 in the morning, Philippine time). The appearance marks another major milestone for the Filipino act as they continue to expand their presence on the global music scene.
BINI will share the Mojave stage lineup with a diverse mix of international artists, including Central Cee, Blood Orange, Ethel Cain, Moby, Devo, Slayyyter, and Novasol, highlighting the wide range of genres featured at the festival.
On the same day, they are also part of a broader roster that includes Sabrina Carpenter, Swae Lee, KATSEYE, and several other performers across different stages.
The performances will be livestreamed on the official Coachella YouTube channel.
BINI is set to make history as the first Filipino girl group to perform at Coachella, marking a significant moment for Filipino representation on the global stage.
They continue to bring pride to OPM through their growing list of international appearances, following the historic announcement of Weverse that they will be joining the platform alongside the “Kings of P-pop” SB19
Prior to their departure to the music festival, BINI talked to Billboard Philippines about their hopes international audiences take away from their performance in discovering P-pop for the first time.
Sheena shared, “Well, we hope our international audience, especially sa Coachella, will get the impression of how great and talented Filipino artists are when put on stage. And I hope they see how passionate we are, how artistic, and how we always put our heart [into] our craft. And sana ma-feel din nila (I hope they feel) how supportive we are of each other. I mean, with us, BINI, […] we don’t only bring our group when we go to global stages. Our goal has always been to bring the whole OPM scene with us.”
For the group, seeing more Filipino artists take the stage at global festivals like Coachella represents both a breakthrough and a growing sense of belonging in the international music scene.
Maloi recounted, “We all know that in music festivals, it’s a very diverse community where sobrang accepting ng energy and ng community doon. Seeing more Filipino acts perform on a global stage, just like Coachella, means so much to us. Kasi, it just means na we crossed borders. Like, we reached so much. And I also believe that we have a place there. And lahat ng iyon, parang nag-root siya (all of that, it is rooted in) because of the love, because of love for our music. And sobrang talagang daming (there are a lot of) Filipino acts, Filipino pop groups, Filipino solo artists, and Filipino bands that deserve to be heard and seen by the global world. And I hope na magkaroon tayo ng (we get the) chance because we all deserve it.”
The group’s latest announcement also comes as they gear up for the “BINIfied” concert happening at the Philippine Arena this November 29.
