OPM band The Juans looked back on their Tawid album tour stop in Singapore last November 2025
In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the band recalled how their international show turned into a sold-out success through a collective effort not only from their own fanbase, Juanistas, but also from SB19’s A’TINs and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
“It's very special to us. Hindi namin inexpect, pero it's even, I would say career-defining yun for us,” band member Carl Guevarra said.
Carl shared that ahead of their Singapore show, they were already aware of the possibility of cancellation due to low ticket sales or an empty show. Instead of backing out, the band chose to take the risk and find ways to make the show happen.
“We decided to go there, hindi lang para magbenta ng ticket pero para alamin, ano ba kasi yung sitwasyon dito sa Singapore? Bakit ba nagsa-struggle magbenta dito? And we're very blessed na bukod sa mga Juanistas, yung A’TINs, which is the fans of SB19, kumbaga bilang mga kapatid namin yung SB19, sila din ay naging talagang parang pamilyang sumaklolo sa amin,” he expressed, remembering the aftermath of his viral plea.
Carl said A’TIN played a crucial role in promoting and amplifying awareness of the show while the band made efforts to connect more deeply with their audience in Singapore.
“They also helped us promote, ipakalat yung balita, parang it became their life task to make sure na maging successful itong concert na to. So, true enough, when we got there, binisita namin yung mga OFW sa Singapore. Pumunta kami sa Lucky Plaza, nagpunta kami sa church, nagpunta kami, nag-busking kami sa isang restaurant. So, ginawa namin we really immersed ourselves doon sa situation doon,” he recalled.
Carl went on: “We are blessed na parang few weeks before the show, naibalita sa amin na sold out na yung show. It's really a product of everyone's bayanihan na true to being Filipinos… They made it their goal to make sure na maging successful ito, and because of that, we are transformed also.”

The band also shared how the experience deepened their connection to their music, with their song “Back Home” serving as a banner anthem for OFWs.
“I feel like this is the song that we will be excited to perform in every stop, especially for this Europe tour. Isa siguro sa mga ilo-look forward ng mga manonood sa amin, na yung set list namin is crafted in a way that it will really cater to the OFW audience, while also not neglecting the international fans who will be watching,” Carl shared. “We're very excited at paghahanda namin ng O.A talaga itong Europe.”
Following their Singapore success, The Juans are set to perform in several cities across Europe: in Milan, Italy on May 31; Paris, France on June 6; Madrid, Spain on June 7; and in Frankfurt, Germany on June 12.
Though still in disbelief over bringing their tour to more international stages, the band said they look forward to experiencing different cultures while bringing comfort and a sense of home to listeners around the world.
“As we bring this music to different parts of the world, we’re reminded that Filipino stories don’t stop at our borders. They resonate wherever there are people who feel, who hope, and who heal,” the band shared in a press release.
