Kapamilya singer Martin Nievera expressed his frustration after losing nearly $3,000 in cash and having his credit cards shredded earlier this week. In a post on his social media accounts, the ASAP mainstay recalled that he forgot to get his bag as he left the aircraft.

Martin was flying from Las Vegas to Florida using a local American airline when the unfortunate incident happened.

He shared how he was focused too much on the game of Tennis superstar, Alex Eala, when he forgot to bring his bag with him. It was only after he passed the security glass doors that he realized that he had left something behind.

“I went straight to the baggage counter to report my loss. I had left my bag under the seat in front of me, but they would not let me go back and said you will have to file a report and hopefully by tomorrow we will call you if we find it,” he shared.

Martin then revealed that he had previously put a tracking device in his wallet, which allowed him to see if there was any movement to the location of his bag. It was only the following day that the bag was moved to a security area, prompting the Filipino singer to return to the airport.

“No one called me to let me know they had it. We just took it upon ourselves to go back. So we went back to the airport not even 24 hours later and to that same counter,” he expressed.

Despite seeing the bag's location, he claimed the airline staff said they hadn't seen it. Wanting to get his bag already, Martin pressed a button which triggered the device he placed on his wallet to ring an alarm–– only then did the staff put the bag out.

Upon checking his bag after it was given to him, he immediately noticed that his money and credit cards were missing.

“When I asked why these things were missing, they told me it’s policy to shred all credit cards and take all cash, which will be returned to me in a check later on,” he shared.

Martin went on to question how the policy works and maintained it would’ve been better if they had told him prior, as he now has doubts about what truly happened to his money. He then shared how he went on the official website of the airline to check the policy, which was the opposite of what he was told.

“No one has contacted me regarding this check with the amount of cash I had in my wallet that they are supposed to return to me. Nothing. And when I went online to see the rules, they shred credit cards and take the cash if you don’t pick up the lost item after 30 days. I was there not even 24 [hours],” he expressed.

Friends and fans of Martin sent him kind, heartwarming messages in the comments section.

Meanwhile, the airline company has yet to respond as of this writing.
