Off camera, they are besties.

At work, they are on-screen leading ladies who are about to intensify primetime television in their newest series "Someone, Someday."

Kathryn Bernardo and Maja Salvador have known each other for years. Photos of them hanging out in parties, gatherings and special occasions are proof that they have a solid friendship outside work. But "Someone, Someday" is the first time they are stepping together in one workspace.

Maja expressed her appreciation after Kathryn said 'yes' for her to be part of the show. This is Maja’s Kapamilya comeback after working for another tv network, getting married, and giving birth. This is also Kathryn’s comeback after ‘2good2betrue’ and she told ABS-CBN News that she wanted someone who will fill the void - the missing puzzle piece to the character that will serve as the villain to her as Billy. And Maja was the key.

Working together, Kath and Maja shared what they discovered about each other.

“Kay Kath, siyempre sa labas ng trabaho kilala ko siya pero hindi ko pa siya kilala kung paano siya katrabaho, nakakaproud kung ano 'yung nakita ko.”

“Pasado ba ate?" Kathryn quickly asked.

“Check!” replied Maja.

“Sobrang passionate. Iba yung passion niya sa craft nya. Talagang hindi lang yung character niya yung iniisip niya, ano yung magiging flow nitong teleserye.”

Maja continued, “Binibigay niya lahat. Hindi lang siya, ‘okay na to?’ Hindi pwede yung ‘okay na to’ sa kanya, very dedicated siya sa ginagawa niya. And doon ko napatunayan na kaya naman pala siya ‘Asia’s Superstar’ because grabe siya magtrabaho.”

Aside from Kathryn’s professionalism, Maja also lauded her co-actor’s treatment to everyone in the team.

“Tama si James (Reid), sobrang bait. Sa crew, sa staff. Kaya siya superstar, alam niyang pantay-pantay, alam niyang tao kaming lahat. May care siya sa lahat. Konting ulan lang kami, nandiyan na yung food naming lahat.”

This project was a blessing that solidified Maja’s respect for Kath as a person, “Natutuwa ako na nakita ko yung side na ito sa kanya, kasi mag-ate kami sa labas ng trabaho.”

For Kathryn’s part, “With ate Maj, she is like my big sister in the industry, and piling-pili lang yung masasabihan ko nun.”

But the "big sister" turned into "teacher" as Kath learned from Maja’s undeniable art of acting on every scene.

“I know that she’s very passionate with work, I am a fan of her work and witnessing it firsthand it’s like a good reminder also for me na walang maliit na eksena, walang maliit na role, 'coz every scene counts, every scene matters.”

Kath added, “Her nuance, her smile, her everything, you learn from her and it’s nice to work with people like her.”

"Someone, Someday" airs weeknights on free TV - AllTV2, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live (on Youtube and Facebook), and Kapamilya Channel. You can catch it 72 hours in advance on Netflix, and 48 hours ahead on iWant.
