Singer-actress Kakai Bautista revealed that she has a lawyer ready just in case she wants to file a case against her bashers. This comes after she came to the defense of PBA courtside reporter Apple David for her relationship with Chad Gammad.

Kakai has been seen on social media responding to some of the comments made against her and most of the time she laughs it off–– not this time, it seems.

Speaking with veteran talent manager Ogie Diaz, the actress recalled how many messages she receives because of her support for Apple.

“Ang dami kong mga hate messages sa Instagram–– they call me names. Hindi ako nasasaktan kasi it’s not true. I won’t be hurt by something that is not true, that is not me–– pedo, groomer, enabler,” she revealed.

“Pedo is such a very strong word and before all of this and before consulting and reaching out to Apple David, I already talked to my lawyer,” she added.

Kakai reminded the bashers about the Republic Act No. 10175, otherwise known as Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. She urged netizens to verify the claims that they have before using them as content on social media.

“Nakakalimutan kasi ng mga content creator ngayon na there is a Cybercrime Act na puwede kayong makulong, na puwede kayong maganito, puwede kayong masita. So, minsan nakakalimutan din natin yun na sige lang… Para sa akin, before you throw a lot of hateful words sa akin, please verify and validate all your facts. Kasi for me, I did not do anything wrong by enabling happiness,” she maintained.

She added how the cancel culture has been so "OA" as she claimed that netizens don’t verify the facts.

“Natanong niyo ba, napunta ba kayo sa ganun? Akin, ang take ko diyan is pabayaan ko na–– hayaan ko nalang. Pero, once pumitik ako at grabe na kayo, there’s a lawyer who’s just waiting,” she expressed.

Kakai maintained that enough is enough for her and if the bashing she’ll receive gets worse, she has no choice but to fight back. With this reminder, the singer-actress is hopeful that netizens would remember that there is a life outside of social media.

“Tandaan niyo lahat yan may hangganan and it’s very detrimental to your mental health that you stay on social media. Guys, you have to get a life in real life, not in your reel life. There’s life outside social media,” she ended.
