Kapamilya stars Barbie Imperial and Richard Gutierrez got candid about what they’ve learned about each other after both starring in the ABS-CBN series, Blood vs Duty. In an interview with PUSH ABS-CBN during the mediacon for the finale of the show, the two shared how they were still able to discover more about one another on a professional level.

In the series Blood vs Duty, Barbie plays the role of Jamillah Abubakar, the younger sister of Jalil Abubakar (portrayed by Gerald Anderson) while Richard is Agent Marcus Reyes, the head of Task Force Alpha.

The Kapamilya actress revealed that it was the first time that she was able to watch every episode of a series she took part in–– something that she learned from Richard himself.

“Actually, ito yung serye na sobrang tutok talaga ako, as in. It’s also my first serye na pinapanood ko bawat eksena, ‘yung bawat episode. I’ve learned it from Chard kasi siya sobrang lahat ng details ng nasa script, as in iniisa-isa niya talaga,” she explained.

“Dito sa series, because of him, I learned from him na kailangan kong pagtuunan ng pansin talaga ng sobra ‘yung role na binibigay sa akin,” she added.

Being together almost everyday due to the taping of the series, Richard maintained that he appreciated how great he could lean on Barbie when things got tough. He shared how he also saw Barbie’s growth as an actress and how natural it was for her to portray Jamillah.

“It was a great experience working with her on the set. Syempre, ‘yung teleserye hindi madaling gawin ‘yun eh, especially sa mga lead characters who are doing a lot of scenes and taping days. It’s always good to have someone on your side na pwede mong lapitan or lean on ‘pag may problema,” he said.

“It’s nice to be working with her and we’re sharing the same schedule also. Naging okay ‘yung experience namin, even on set naging maayos naman ‘yung experience namin. Of course, with the guidance of our directors, our producers, and our co-actors din,” he continued.

The two also revealed in the same interview that they will be heading to Bicol–– Barbie’s hometown–– as they are set to hold something different for the actress’ birthday this year. This will mark Richard's first time to visit the old school of Barbie, something he maintained he wanted to see.

“Magbi-birthday na ako so pupunta kami ng Bicol, something different. Palagi akong nagpa-party so inisip ko, kung gagastos ako sa party ko, may binuo nalang kami ni Chard na charity para doon sa school ko noong grade school. Maliit na school lang kasi siya sa isang barangay tapos konti lang din ‘yung students so naisip ko, why not spend for itong mga bata kasi nakakapagod na rin pumarty,” Barbie shared.

Meanwhile, Blood vs Duty is down to its few remaining weeks. Catch the action-packed finale on iWant, Netflix, and other Kapamilya platforms such as ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live.
