MANILA -- "Just because something ended, it doesn't mean it wasn't real."

Donny Pangilinan made this statement as he shared lessons from "Tayo sa Wakas," his movie with Belle Mariano, on Dani Barretto's podcast.

The actor acknowledged the fear people associate with endings, but believes that these are important in growth and preparing for life's next chapter.

"I think that's what people would want to take out of this film. And I think it's something they think about, too. Maybe we might have second thoughts na parang, totoo ba itong naramdaman ko or was it worth it?" he said. "Because it very much could have been worth it. And it prepares you for something greater, and that's what you use for the next chapters of your life."

He added: "So endings, of course, they can be very emotional, but they prepare you for what's next. And that's always how it is, 'di ba?"

In just three days since it opened in Philippine cinemas on May 27, Pangilinan and Mariano's "Tayo sa Wakas" earned P25 million.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the movie follows long-time couple Cisco and Cheska, once partners in life and career, who are "forced to confront how their ambitions started to put them at competing paths."

Tickets are available for purchase at tayosawakas.com.

The movie is also set for release in other countries starting this month.
