Just weeks after revealing they had already tied the knot, newlyweds Kai Sotto and Rere Madrid surprised fans once again after announcing that they are now expecting their first child together.
The couple revealed the happy news through a joint Instagram post on June 22. In their announcement, Kai and Rere shared how they kept the exciting news within their own circle before announcing it to the public.
“For a while, we’ve been living in our own little world. Holding onto a secret that made every day feel like an adventure. Every moment, every plan, every quiet smile. It was all for you. And now, we finally get to share it,” the couple wrote.
They then excitedly announced: "WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!! Our greatest adventure is just beginning, and you’re already the best part of it. 🍼✨”
The announcement video featured emotional moments as family members and loved ones reacted to learning about Rere’s pregnancy, with several visibly moved by the news.
One particularly emotional clip showed Rere’s father speaking directly to Kai, asking the basketball star to make a promise that he would never hurt Rere and that he would continue loving her for life.
The couple also gave followers a glimpse into their journey toward parenthood, sharing clips from medical checkups, early pregnancy milestones, and footage showing Rere’s growing baby bump.

In one playful moment, Kai was seen sticking out his own stomach beside Rere, pretending to have a matching baby bump.
The pair also proudly revealed their baby’s sonogram, giving fans an even more personal look into the milestone.
The video also captured actor Ruru Madrid, Rere’s brother, sharing his honest reaction and message for his sister.
“Masaya ako. Kasi ako to be honest, kung iisipin mo na magagalit ako sa'yo, no. Bakit? Anong point? Kung nasaan ka ngayon, may dahilan kung bakit diyan ka nilagay. At tandaan mo, na kakampi mo ako dito, kami,” Ruru said.
Rere also shared gratitude toward actress Bianca Umali, Ruru’s longtime girlfriend, revealing that she had been one of the people who supported her and gave her courage throughout the journey.
Shortly after the announcement, congratulatory messages quickly poured in from both fans and fellow celebrities celebrating the couple’s growing family.

Meanwhile, Ruru also left a touching public message for his sister and brother-in-law. “Congratulations Bunso at Bayaw! Mahal ko kayo. ♥️”
In late May, Kai and Rere surprised many after revealing they had tied the knot in an intimate garden wedding held in Alfonso, Cavite.
