MANILA -- Singer-songwriter TJ Monterde gifted his wife and fellow music artist KZ Tandingan a luxury bag as he recalled the unconditional love and trust that she has given him when he was down.
On Instagram, Monterde uploaded a reel before receiving a gift from him.
"A few years ago, when my bank account only had a few thousands, she would smile and say, 'Darating din tayo dyan — maaabot mo rin yan. Bibilhan mo pa nga ako ng bag, di ba?' 😊 Back when it felt impossible, you already saw it done. — and Im not even talking about the bag. Thank you for believing in me, babi. Since day one. Je t’aime ❤️," Monterde said.
Monterde and Tandingan tied the knot in Batangas in August 2020 after being in a relationship for five years.
Ten years after their meeting, he wrote his massive hit "Palagi" for his wife.
In a previous vlog of broadcaster Karen Davila, Monterde shared how Tandingan supported him when he was not yet successful in the music biz.
"Minsan humihingi ako ng pasensiya. Kasi bumili kami ng bahay, wala akong masyadong ambag sa binili naming bahay. 'Yung sa akin lang minsan kuryente, tubig, magkano lang ba 'yon? So parang lagi kong inaano, 'Lord, paano ba ito pang-kuryente tubig na lang ba ako rito? Paano kaya Lord? Paano ko kaya maabot na ako naman 'yung magbabayad namin na monthly na malalaki o magbabayad ng kotse?' Pero she never made me feel that way. Lagi niyang sinasabi sa akin, 'okay lang' parang 'darating 'yung time.' May tiwala talaga siya sa akin. 'Darating 'yung time, sure ako maaano mo 'yan, bibili mo ako ng bag, bibili mo ako ng Chanel," Monterde recalled at the time.
