BGYO member Akira Morisihita shared how proud he is of Nation’s Girl Group and his fellow Kapamilya talents, BINI, for a successful Coachella stint. During the Star Magic Spotlight Presscon earlier this month, the Your Face Sounds Familiar alum expressed how nice it was to see them perform on a global stage.
BINI performed both weekends of Coachella, which was seen by millions of viewers around the world. They are the first Filipino group to grace one of the world’s biggest music festivals.

“Siyempre sobrang proud ako sa BINI kasi kasama namin sila from trainee days. As in, from auditions [and] boot camp to eliminations,” BGYO Akira expressed.
At the presscon, he made sure to show how proud he is of his labelmates as they represented the country on a global level.
“Yung makita yung makatapak sila on a bigger stage tapos sa napakalaking music festival pa –– Coachella –– sobrang nakakaproud,” he added.
Akira then expressed that if an opportunity is presented to BGYO in the near future, he is open to taking it.
“At the same time, if magkaroon ng ganun opportunity yung BGYO, magiging sobrang saya siyempre kasi kakaibang opportunity din yun. In a way, mapre-present din namin yung Pilipinas sa ibang bansa,” he admitted.

“Sana, hopefully in the near future pero congratulations BINI we’re so proud of you,” he maintained.
In the same interview, Akira shared some of the learnings he had after his successful stint as a contestant on Your Face Sounds Familiar. Apart from stepping out of his comfort zone through impersonating several artists, he revealed the friendship he has built among his fellow contestants.
“Kaya ko rin pala mag perform mag isa kasi nasanay ako sa grupo. Parang kaya pala ulit na ganun kahaba, ganun karaming performances na mag-isa ako. Ang dami ko rin na realize na kaya ko palang kumanta ng ganitong genre,” he maintained.
