Eagle-eyed fans noticed on Friday, April 17 (PH time) that when they search “BINI” on Google, it generates eight “eyyy” emojis at the top of the search results.
According to fans online, the feature is not limited to the Philippines, with users in countries such as Singapore, South Korea, Italy, and Hong Kong also reporting the same experience.
BINI recently made history as the first Filipino group to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, taking over the Mojave Stage on April 10 (U.S. time)/April 11 (PH time).
During their 45-minute set, the group energized the crowd with a lineup of fan-favorite hits, including “Pantropiko,” “Karera,” “Salamin, Salamin,” “Cherry on Top,” “Blink Twice,” and “Blush,” among others.
In between numbers, Mikha took the lead in engaging the audience, encouraging them to try the group’s signature gesture, “Eyy!”
“I think it’s time for an energy check. I’m going to teach you a hand gesture from the Philippines. It’s an expression called ‘Eyy!’" Mikha said. “You can say it when you’re sad, when you’re happy—or honestly, just say it whenever you want."

The “eyyy” expression first went viral in 2024 after a video of BINI member Sheena, posted by user @softlysheena, showed her making the gesture during a meet-and-greet at the group’s three-day BINIverse concert.
In a past interview with ABS-CBN News, Sheena shared that she made the expression to help calm an emotional fan.
“Mayroong ‘Bloom’ na nagsabing ga-graduate siya. Ta’s naiiyak siya—e alam niyo naman ayoko na umiiyak ‘yung mga tao, so sabi ko, ‘Eyy ka muna, eyyyy.’ So at least, nakapag-'Eyyy' muna siya bago siya humagulgol,” she said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Meanwhile, on April 8, global searches for the term “BINI Coachella” reached a peak score of 100, according to Google Trends data, indicating the keyword’s highest level of popularity.
Following their successful Coachella debut, BINI is set to return to the festival stage for a second performance on April 18 (Philippine time).
