Marlo Mortel revealed Tuesday he is the uncle of Andres and Atasha Muhlach.
Mortel, now co-managed by his aunt Elvie Gonzales, is the cousin of the Muhlach twins’ mother Charlene Gonzales.
“Magkapatid po lolo ko at lola ni Ate Charlene Gonzales. So si Charlene ay pinsan ko. Pamintuan lolo ko at lola din ni Ate Charlene sa side ng mom. Sina Andres ay pamangkin pero dahil magka age mas pinsan trato,” he explained in an interview held in Pasig City.
“Never ko sinabi sa interviews na I had relatives [in showbiz]. I am proud say,” he added.
Mortel has returned his focus to acting. Following his stint in “What Lies Beneath,” he is set to star in the Viva Movie Box series “Caught in the Act.”
According to the actor, the vertical series he leads with Rita Daniela marked his first kissing and intimate scenes.
“It was intense. I did not imagine thats how my first kissing scene. It was one good long take.Nag cucut pala si Direk, hindi namin naririnig,” he recalled.
“Sabi ko ikaw na Rita bahala. Guide mo. Sabi ko isang intense na lang tas gradually i-tone down. pero parang di nila itinigil. Bumubulong ako sa camera operators— pwede na ba tigil?
I couldnt be happier sa scene,” Director Temi Abad said.
Apart from acting projects, Mortel is working on releasing new music.
