Actress and television host Anne Curtis has safely returned to Manila with her family after being stranded abroad for several days following disrupted flights in the Middle East.
Anne traveled back to the Philippines with her husband, food entrepreneur Erwan Heussaff, and their daughter, Dahlia Amélie Heussaff. The update was shared by Erwan on March 5 through his Instagram Story, where he posted a short clip of their plane.
“Last few days felt like weeks. Back in Manila,” Erwan wrote, reflecting on the difficult travel experience.
Earlier, Anne’s mother, Carmen Ojales Curtis-Smith, confirmed that the actress and her family had reunited in Oman after being separated during their travels. She also appealed for prayers while they arranged their return flight to Manila.

Erwan later shared another update on Instagram, posting a reel confirming that they were in Muscat, Oman. In the same post, he revealed that they had traveled from Dubai to Muscat by land as part of their efforts to leave the region.
Anne had earlier been in Milan, Italy to attend the Milan Fashion Week 2026. The It's Showtime host was already on a flight bound for Dubai when she noticed high-speed jets flying near their plane.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Anne shared the alarming moment.
"Was on my way to meet my little fam in Dubai when I noticed a high-speed jet flying beside us."
Anne added, "I noticed another one, and next thing I knew, they announced we would be turning around and making our way back to Milan due to the airstrikes. All flights to the Middle East have been grounded."
Amid the situation, the actress also expressed concern for Filipinos and families living in the region.
"Praying for all the families in the Middle East. Sa mga kababayan natin, ingat po. Stay safe, everyone. Hoping things will ease soon."
The family’s travel complications came as tensions escalated following waves of U.S.-Israel strikes targeting sites in Iran. Iran later responded by launching missiles and drones toward Israel and several Gulf Arab nations hosting U.S. military bases, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, Anne recently made headlines even as she was abroad after Quezon City 4th District representative Jesus "Bong" Suntay mentioned her in a sexually suggestive analogy during the March 3 House justice committee hearing on the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte.
During the hearing, the lawmaker shared that he had once imagined a scenario involving the actress after seeing her in public.
“Lastly, alam mo naman minsan nasa Shangri-la ako. Nakita ko si Anne Curtis–– ang ganda ganda pala niya. You know, may desire so loob ko na nag init talaga at naimagine ko nalang kung anong pwedeng mangyari pero siyempre hanggang imagination nalang yun. Pero, di naman siguro ako kasuhan dahil kung ano-ano yung naimagine ko eh. Thank you very much, Madam Chair,” Rep. Suntay previously shared.
The remarks sparked criticism from several personalities, particularly as they surfaced during Women's Month.
Among those who voiced support for the actress were her mother, her sister Jasmine Curtis-Smith, her It’s Showtime co-host Amy Perez, journalist Karen Davila, and actresses Angel Locsin, Nadine Lustre, and Gabbi Garcia, among others, who expressed solidarity with Anne and called for respect toward women.
Following the controversy, Sheila Guevara, the wife of Rep. Suntay, issued an apology to the actress over the remarks made by her husband.
As of this writing, Anne has yet to release a statement regarding the issue.
