Angelica Yulo, the mother of double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, recently celebrated a personal milestone after graduating from college with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Office Administration.
Angelica shared the proud moment with her followers in a Facebook post on March 13, where she uploaded a series of photos from her graduation ceremony at Philippine Christian University, held at the Philippine International Convention Center.
In her post, Angelica reflected on the journey that led her to finally earn her diploma, emphasizing that determination has no age limit.
“She believed she could, so she did!!!
"They say it's never too late and today I proved it and this also proves that determination knows no age limit,” she wrote.
She described the diploma as more than just an academic achievement, but also a symbol of perseverance and long-held dreams, writing: “This diploma isn't just a paper it's a testament to my resilience and the refusal to let go of my dreams.”
Angelica also expressed gratitude to the people who supported her throughout the journey, acknowledging how their encouragement helped her reach the milestone and pursuing her studies later in life.
Angelica’s post also featured photos of her graduation invitation and snapshots of herself proudly wearing a black toga while holding her graduation cap. She was joined during the ceremony by her husband, Mark Yulo.
In the same post, she shared that she completed her degree through the Republic Act No. 12124, commonly known as the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) Act.
According to the Supreme Court of the Philippines E-Library, ETEEAP is a “comprehensive alternative learning program of the government for tertiary education based on academic equivalency, accreditation, validation, and recognition of prior learning or the knowledge and expertise derived from relevant work experiences and from formal, non-formal, and informal training that harness the student's full potential.”
It allows high school graduates, senior high school graduates, post-secondary technical-vocational graduates, and college undergraduates, including working professionals who were unable to finish or advance into college, to earn a degree without going through the traditional schooling methods.
In the comments section, friends and family members congratulated Angelica, praising her determination and noting how she managed to complete her degree despite a busy schedule and the responsibilities that come with family life.
Beyond her personal milestone, Angelica has also been enjoying happier moments with her family.
Earlier this year, her children – Carlos, Eldrew, Jorielgel, and Elaiza – delighted fans after sharing glimpses of their theme park outing in Laguna. They were joined by their respective partners, including Carlos’s girlfriend Chloe San Jose and Eldrew’s girlfriend Francine Murillo, along with other loved ones.
The reunion resonated with many netizens, particularly after the family faced public tension in 2024, including reports of a rift between Carlos and Chloe and his parents.
