Clara Ramos, the mother of Kapuso actress Rhian Ramos, questioned the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) on their support for the driver who allegedly stole from her daughter. In an Instagram post, she broke her silence to defend her daughter from the accusations thrown at her.
Rhian, alongside Michelle Dee and Samantha Panlilio, were accused of illegally detaining the driver last month.
“I don’t understand VACC’s support for a lying thief. Nagpa-interview pa left and right, dishing out unverified information,” she wrote.
Clara added how the interviews that were conducted had allegedly helped morph the stories.
“It has helped fuel this social media frenzy, leaving the ones stolen from and betrayed to be victimized even more by depraved imaginations with stories morphing like cancer,” she continued.
The Kapuso actress’s mom expressed how disheartened she is seeing her child being torn apart on social media and hinted that someone may be “running this show” to tarnish her daughter’s reputation.
“Watching the internet tear my daughter apart for things she didn’t do. She doesn’t deserve this. Sure, through the years we know bashers will bash, but this? This is brutal, and whoever’s running this show is sick!” she ended.

Fans of Rhian sent their support in the comment section of Clara’s post. Other netizens shared their thoughts on the issue and how social media hasn’t helped the case at all.
VACC President, Boy Evangelista, shared in an interview with Boy Abunda earlier this week how he understood the sentiments of Rhian’s mother but maintained that the non-profit, non-political, and non-government organization will help the “underdog”
“Alias Totoy has no lawyer or legal counsel. Totoy has no voice. His story cannot be heard in contrast to the accused who (are represented by) a law firm fully equipped with legal wisdom,” he shared.
Previously, Michelle’s legal camp has denied the alleged torture and illegal detention claims made by the driver as she was in Iloilo at the time he claimed that it happened.
“We find this physically impossible and also incredible kasi based on the allegation of the driver, nangyari raw yung alleged mauling and illegal detention, January 17 to 19. However, records would show na si Michelle Dee was in Iloilo ng buong araw ng January 17, and she was able to go back to Manila only on January 18,” the legal camp previously shared.
