KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde opened up about why they held a second wedding in 2023.
In a recent interview with PeopleAsia, the couple shared that the ceremony was dedicated to their parents. It can be recalled that KZ and TJ first tied the knot in 2020 in Batangas during the pandemic.
"Kasi the first wedding we weren't able to spend that day with our families kasi nga they weren't allowed to fly in. So, being both the eldest children parang sobrang important po sa amin that we give that memory to our parents na naghatid sila ng mga anak nila sa altar," KZ remarked.
When asked about the lessons they learned from their parents that they hope to pass on to their future children, TJ replied: "To have a Christ-centered family and home."
Meanwhile, KZ said it's the value of generosity. "'Yung generosity will always go a long way. We did not grow up in privilege, but we never felt like we had nothing even though we actually didn't have anything. Kasi 'yung parents namin have always taught us na kumbaga whatever little thing that you have o kung anong meron ka, it's not something na ikaw lang dapat meron. Like, your blessings are always meant to be shared," she highlighted.
Last January, KZ and TJ celebrated their 11th anniversary as a couple.
The singers took to social media to pen messages for each other as they marked the occasion.
"Happy 11th Anniversary, TJ! I thank God every day for the blessing of spending a lifetime with you. I love you so much! ❤️😭" KZ posted on her Instagram page.
She also shared a snapshot from their first anniversary celebration as a married couple in 2020, noting that it later became the inspiration for TJ's song "Sariling Mundo."

Meanwhile, TJ wrote: "Super busy the past few weeks, concert mode on, pero kahit pano nakasingit pa rin ng date night, and these moments matter — the ‘in betweens.' Happy uyab (couple) anniversary, KZ."
KZ and TJ got engaged in 2019. The proposal happened during the 30th birthday celebration of TJ.
