Kris Aquino marked her 55th birthday with a reunion that brought joy not only to her but also to the many fans who have long followed her journey.
On February 17, Kris took to social media to share a video compilation of her birthday salubong, held at her home in Makati City. The intimate gathering was attended by her sons, Josh and Bimby, and a close-knit circle of friends who have remained by her side through the years. The room was filled with rainbow-colored balloons – a detail Kris had previously wished for, as she considers this year her “rainbow year” while continuing her battle with multiple autoimmune diseases.
“New friends and friends who can count decades of togetherness. I promised you a home tour, we’re not yet done,” Kris wrote in her caption.

In the video she shared, Kris could be seen smiling and enjoying the company of her loved ones. Present during the celebration were members of her glam team, including RB Chanco and Jonathan Velasco, who helped her prepare for the occasion. Fashion designer Michael Leyva also joined the gathering, along with her doctors, Dr. Geraldine Zamora and Dr. Katcee Canlas–Estrella, among others who have supported her both personally and medically.
What stood out for many fans was the presence of her longtime friend and former co-host, the King of Talk Boy Abunda. The two, who have shared decades of friendship on and off camera, were seen posing for photos together, including snaps with Bimby. In one image, Kris and Boy shared a meal together with their friends.
Their reunion comes months after Boy revealed that he continues to keep in touch with Kris and visits her whenever possible. Speaking to members of the press during the 37th Star Awards for Television in August 2025, Boy shared how he supports her during her health battle.

“We are in touch. Nag-uusap kami. Nadadalaw ko kapag may pagkakataon. And I continue to pray to God na she be well. Ako’y umaasa, positibo that she will be well,” he previously said.
This was not the first time their reunion delighted supporters. In October 2023, the two also met in California while Kris was abroad for medical treatment. At the time, Kris said that Boy struggled to hold back his emotions upon learning about the many procedures she needed to undergo.
“Parang the whole 3 hours Boy was here he was stopping himself from crying pero bumigay din sya talaga,” she previously wrote on Instagram.
In the same post, Kris greeted Boy on his birthday that month, referring to him as her "other brother."
“Happy Birthday (Oct 29) to the keeper of all my secrets, the one who assured me that come what may he’ll be there for my sons, and the friend who until now fights my battles with me. To my other brother, I love you completely.”
Kris and Boy’s partnership spans years of television history, having co-hosted programs such as The Buzz, Aquino and Abunda Tonight, Startalk, and Boy & Kris, among others. Their dynamic on screen translated into a real-life bond that has endured beyond studio lights and live broadcasts.

As she marked another year, Kris also shared an update about her birthday wish. Previously, she had expressed hope to reach 60 and eventually hold both senior citizen and person with disability (PWD) cards. This time, she made another goal.
“Previously I said let’s go for 60, 68 seems like a better goal. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes.”
She ended her message by inviting her followers to leave their questions in the comments section, saying she will do her best to answer them.
