As trends come and go on social media, this new one is hitting all the nostalgic feels for those who enjoy the Y2K aesthetic. The Bebot trend has been making rounds and celebrities have hopped on the trend–– giving their take on how “historically” accurate Bebot should look like.
"Bebot" is the hit song of American music group, Black Eyed Peas, which was released back in 2005. The term could easily be compared to the Gen Z term, baddie, and has been used to empower Filipino women to embrace the Bebot in them.
While there are no rules to what a Bebot should look like, the videos of the social media trend would start with the bare faces of the content creators which would be followed up by the makeup aesthetic back in the 2000s–– smokey eye, eyeliner, thin eyebrows, and minimal blush.
These are just some of the celebrities that just wanted to have fun and joined the ongoing trend on social media.
Sue Ramirez
The Kapamilya actress was one of the first celebrities who hopped on the trend on TikTok. She received hundreds of thousands of likes and has been praised by netizens for her beauty.
Ashley Ortega
The former Pinoy Big Brother housemate showed her new hairdo–– straight cut bangs–– as she transformed into a Bebot.
Kim Chiu
It’s Showtime host and the Alibi actress dolled up and became a true Bebot that would’ve rocked in the 2000s. Kim has always been keeping up with the trends on social media.
Maris Racal
She made sure to keep the aesthetic of Bebot alive in the video she created. Not only did Maris do her makeup like how it was done in the 2000s, she also had her hair and outfit styled perfectly to be a “historically accurate” Bebot.
Zeinab Harake
The content creator had fun with the trend as she went back to what Bebot really stands for–– empowering and uplifting women.
Ivana Alawi
The Kapamilya actress and her sister, Mona, hopped in the trend as well and showed how everyone in the family could be a Bebot.
Cassy Legaspi
With a perfectly blow-dried hair, Cassy achieved the perfect Bebot look back in the 2000s.
Anne Curtis
One of the original It Girls of the country, Anne showed everyone that she was one of the Bebots back in the day.
