MANILA — For screen veterans Charo Santos and Boots Anson, hard work, uniqueness, and love for the craft are key to a long-lasting career in showbiz.

In a recent vlog with Ogie Diaz, the stars of the upcoming film "Until She Remembers" shared insights on how actors can stand out and endure in an industry crowded with content and competition.

"Ako, hard work talaga, dedikasyon, commitment at saka be yourself. Find your own space. Huwag ka tumingin sa iba. Have  something unique about your offering; hindi 'yung generic na all of the above. Dapat may dala kang sa iyo, 'yung galing mo, pagkatao mo, paniniwala mo, beauty mo, 'yung sarili mong angking galing," Santos said.

"Lalo na in this world na there's so much content available to everyone at a flick of a finger. What will make you stand out in the crowd? Bakit kita titingnan? The crowd has become bigger. Bakit kita titingnan? Bakit ako titigil kapag nag-scroll ako sa content mo? You bring that with you as you go up the ladder. From short form, you go long form, dala mo 'yon. Pero kahit dala mo lahat ng gifts kung wala kang hard work and dedication and commitment ay kulang. Kumbinasyon 'yan," Santos added.

For her part, Anson advised actors to love their work.

"The word love napakalawak. Diyan nakasentro ang buhay natin. Si Kristo kaya namatay because of love. 'Yung pagbibigay mo, pag-intindi mo, 'yung patience, your sacrifice, sakop lahat 'yan ng love. Given all of these, 'yung ganitong perspektibo sa mga kabataan, 'yung mga bago -- love your work and it will love you in return," Anson said.

In the vlog, the two icons also talked about their upcoming roles in "Until She Remembers," which is directed by Cannes-winning filmmaker Brillante Mendoza.

Also starring Barbie Forteza, Angel Aquino, Albert Martinez, Eric Quizon, Vince Rillon, and Erlinda Villalobos, "Until She Remembers" opens in Philippine cinemas on February 25.
