In her latest Instagram post on February 1, Kris shared a video where she candidly opened gift boxes from her loved ones with the help of her son, Bimby. Early in the clip, she could be seen trying to lift one of the boxes. Pointing to her arms, she explained that she needs to do exercises.
“Kasi may mga blood clot ako dito [pointing to her arms], so kailangan on itself matunaw,” she said.
Throughout the video, Kris appeared brighter and stronger, delighting her fans. She also subtly showed the Port-a-Cath on her chest and expressed gratitude to the medical team who handled her recent procedure.

As she spoke about her stay in the hospital, Kris shared that after six weeks, she is finally preparing to go home.
“Although this is not our home, we’ve been here for six weeks. Pero finally in three days we will be allowed to go home. Meron lang akong kailangan gawin for myself para mas madalas niyo akong makikita, hindi ako hihingalin, and on its own kusang matatanggal [yung blood clot],” she said.
It was during this update that Kris revealed her diagnosis. “It's called Deep Vein Thrombosis na pwedeng makamatay. Hindi ako pwedeng lumipad until mawala sila because yung air pressure,” she explained, referring to the blood clots she pointed out on her arms.
According to Mayo Clinic, Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) “occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in one or more of the deep veins in the body, usually in the legs. Deep vein thrombosis can cause leg pain or swelling. Sometimes there are no noticeable symptoms. It can be serious because blood clots in the veins can break loose. The clots can then travel through the bloodstream and get stuck in the lungs, blocking blood flow (pulmonary embolism).”
Despite the condition, Kris remained hopeful and focused on healing. In the caption of her post, she asked her followers for help in finding a place with a swimming pool, as swimming will be part of her recovery.
“Please help me, do you know of any indoor swimming pools in any physical rehab centers or hotels that offer health club memberships? Or are there any condo units, homes or townhomes for lease in Makati,Taguig,Mandaluyong,San Juan, or Pasig that have easy to cover with the big patio and garden umbrellas I’ve seen online- lap pools or shallow swimming pools; and are within 30 minutes inclusive of traffic from St Luke’s Global, MMC, Asian Hospital, Medical City, or Cardinal Santos?” she wrote.
The Queen of All Media also shared her excitement for her birthday on February 14, offering a glimpse of her positive outlook.
“But for this birthday...hindi po ako pwede sa flowers kasi I can really be allergic,” she said, before sharing her wish.
“Gustong gusto ko talaga magkaroon ng arko na puro ballons na rainbow colors. Kasi parang feeling ko this year will be my rainbow year. Pagkatapos ng lahat ng pinagdaanan na mga bagyo, pagsubok, lahat ng ulan, lahat ng baha, lahat ng pinagdaanan ko, parang this year, slowly but surely, yung mga nagpapaligaya sa akin magagawa ko na. Plus, other things na gusto kong matutunan.”
Reflecting on what keeps her going, Kris acknowledged her sons.
“I would not be here now, wala ako talking to you, I would've long ago given up, had it not been for Bimb and for Kuya,” she said.
Amid the health updates, she also thrilled fans by sharing more about the video podcast she hopes to do, which she first teased last January. She explained that it is something she wants to approach gradually, in line with her strength and condition.
“This is my life’s new reality. But in order for me to continue being brave, i need to do slowly what i love until i am stronger,” she wrote.
“My goal is once a week sit down interviews with people who for me are interesting and with God’s blessing, weekly enjoyable treatment of products i really use. Because there’s a team doing my hair & makeup, i have a skeleton crew, a 2 cam setup shooting me and the closeups of the others as well as product shots and I’m excited to start sharing new home cooking recipes made simpler with all of you. Happy viewing,” Kris concluded in her post.
The video ended on a touching note as Kris, joined by her sons Bimby and Josh, thanked everyone who has continuously supported and prayed for her.
“We love you all, thank you dahil you've been praying for me non-stop, they still have a mama. And they will have a mama for many years to come, hopefully.”
