Carla Guevara Laforteza shared snapshots from the 23rd birthday celebration of her daughter, KATSEYE member Sophia Laforteza, in the Philippines.
In her post, Sophia can be seen having a sing-and-dance party with her family and friends.
"And she partied the night away with the whole family to celebrate her 23rd birthday! We love you our little global superstar @sophia_laforteza!" Carla posted.
Sophia turned 23 last December 31, 2025.
Sophia made her debut in KATSEYE in June 2024 with the release of the group's first single "Debut." The group quickly gained traction, followed with their breakout hit "Touch" in July 2024.
The group reached another milestone in August 2024 with the release of their first extended play (EP), SIS (Soft Is Strong). To promote the EP, KATSEYE embarked on an Asia tour in September 2024, performing in South Korea, the Philippines, and Japan.
The group released their second EP Beautiful Chaos in June this year.
KASTSEYE recently received their first Grammy nominations with Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Gabriela" at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
In an interview with Teen Vogue in January 2025, Sophia shared what it means for her to represent Filipinos on the international stage as part of a global girl group.
The singer remarked that she is proud to showcase her Filipino identity on the global music scene.
"I want to be somebody who will never hide the fact that I'm Filipino," she pointed out. "I want to be loud about it. It means a lot when somebody embraces their culture, especially their Philippine culture and their heritage."
In the same interview, Sophia relayed that she has always looked up to her mother Carla who is a theater actress. Sophia shared how her mom helped mold her to be the artist that she is today.
"She's not a teacher, but I tagged along for everything. She would take me to rehearsal. I would just sit there and observe. She trained me to be a visual learner," she recalled.
