ENHYPEN member Sunghoon is set to be a torchbearer for the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.
Expressing his excitement, the K-Pop star shared his admiration for the athletes competing in the global sporting event. "As I am fully aware of the passion and effort by the national representatives who have shed sweat for the Winter Olympics, I have great respect and support for them," Sunghoon said in a press release as reported by The Korea Times.
The singer also reflected on his personal connection to the Olympics, recalling his early dreams as a competitive athlete. "I had dreamed of being part of the Olympics when I was skating, and I am thrilled to be able to fulfill that dream now as a singer," he remarked.
Before he became a K-Pop idol, Sunghoon was a figure skater. His appointment as a torchbearer was recommended by Samsung Electronics, an official sponsor of the Winter Olympics.
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN recently released their seventh extended play (EP), THE SIN : VANISH, on January 16. The EP continues the narrative introduced in DESIRE : UNLEASH, centering on vampire lovers on the run.
In a recent interview with ABS-CBN News, the group shared what inspired the next chapter of the story.
"In this next chapter, we wanted to capture the wide range of emotions and situations that come with being on the run — tension, thrill, confusion, and more. This album isn’t just about the tracks; it also includes narrations and skits that help guide the story, allowing fans to imagine and experience the emotions within it alongside us," member Jake said.
The track "Knife" was released as the lead single from the EP. Explaining the choice, Sunghoon said, "We chose 'Knife' as the lead single because we felt it has an impact that instantly grabs attention. We also thought the song delivers ENHYPEN’s powerful energy both visually and sonically, leaving a strong impression on fans."
