Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition housemate AZ Martinez opened up about her nose surgery and what led her to this decision.
In an interview with Karen Davila in her latest YouTube vlog, AZ admitted that growing up, she became insecure about her nose. "Kasi 'yung mom ko at 'yung kuya ko ang ganda nung ilong nila. Si kuya kasi nagmana sa mom mo. Hindi ko nakuha 'yung ilong ng mom ko, nakuha ko 'yung ilong ng dad ko," she relayed.
The actress revealed that she was 18 when she underwent cosmetic surgery. "Nafru-frustrate ako growing up kasi lagi akong nakatingin sa kanila, magkakambal daw si mommy at si kuya, ako san daw? Na-insecure ako sa nose ko and ayun naisip ko for my 18th birthday, I got it done."
Looking back, AZ admitted she wished she had taken more time to think it through.
"Right now, like thinking about it, I wished I should have thought about it more, kasi looking back tinitingnan ko 'yung photos ko, nasasabi ko, parang it wasn't that bad naman. Parang nakaya pagcontour-countour lang. Pero happy ako sa nose ko. Actually, this is my second time kasi 'yung first ko it got infected, this one I got it done last year again," she shared.
On her advice for those who want to have their nose done, AZ has this to say: "Think about it talaga, sometimes kasi nagre-regret ako. Sometimes napapaisip ako na sana hindi na lang. Ang gastos din, parang ganun. Pero whatever makes you happy, whatever makes you confident go for it," she said.
She also reminded others to embrace themselves even without enhancements. "Pero learn to also love yourself without those stuff, kasi parang that's one thing na I should have done. One of my regrets also is hindi ko masyado minahal sarili ko kaya I jumped into impulsive decisions na hindi naman necessary, or hindi naman dapat sana na pwede naman sana gawan pa ng iba pang paraan, na pag-isipan pa," she remarked.
