Jericho Rosales celebrated his recent birthday in South Africa alongside girlfriend Janine Gutierrez.
On his Instagram page, Jericho shared the clips and snapshots from his birthday celebration.
"Third time celebrating my birthday in Africa and I always come home with a full heart and belly ❤️🎂🍌🍉🥑🍍🥭So I’m connecting to the wifi to say big big love to the amazing people of Tanzania and everyone who greeted me! ASANTE SANA!" he wrote.
The actor expressed his joy of sharing this special occasion with Janine. "So so happy to share this experience with @janinegutierrez! Thanks for being sneaky 🫶🏼Thank you, @accesstravelph for arranging this trip! I’m blown away," he said.
Fans online were quick to extend their birthday messages to Jericho.
"Happiest birthday again @jerichorosalesofficial. Warms my heart to read all the sweet greetings from your fans in Tanzania/Africa, and celebrating your birthday with Janine," one fan wrote.
"The whole Africa knows you as Angelo sir 😄😄😄 so Happy Birthday Angelo 👏👏🎂," one fan commented. It can be recalled that Jericho's hit teleserye Pangako Sa'yo, where he played Angelo, was distributed in Africa and also became a hit there.
In an interview with Karen Davila in September 2024, Jericho opened up when he started developing feelings for Janine.
The actor shared that he felt first the spark with Janine during a script reading.
"One day, I asked her 'Would you like to do a script reading with me?' That was, I'm sure she has the version of the story, but why would I ask for a script reading, when she's the only person I haven't worked with," Jericho recalled.
The actor recounted that he felt the need to do a script reading with Janine that time since they will be portraying as married couple in the series Lavender Fields.
"She was going to be my work wife, my wife in the show. All of the issues or the decisions that my character was going to do in the show is because of the relationship they have. This is not some easy working relationship," he relayed.
Jericho relayed that the work meeting turned into a lengthy conversation.
"So in my head, 'o coffee, script reading, and coffee'. So I asked her, I brought with me my iPad and then we saw each other at a cafe and then I brought my iPad out and then she started laughing and 'holy God, you had an iPad' and I said 'Yes this is a work meeting.' So to cut the long story short, six hours later, we never got to open the iPad," he shared.
"It ended with like Japanese food at 3 p.m. and then she went to her Lola Pilita Corrales and that's it. And I was like, 'Wow, I can spend six hours talking to this girl'... That's when I felt something," he admitted.
