Actress Claudine Barretto expressed her support towards her godchildren, Gabby and Raffi Deramas after the decision of the Court of Appeals (CA) ruled in their favor earlier this week. On her Instagram account, the Optimum Star shared how the late director, Wenn Deramas, worked hard for his adopted children.
The CA recently denied the petition of the sister and other relatives of the late director in an inheritance row which involved two houses in Quezon City and bank accounts.
Claudine maintained that DNA tests are no longer needed to prove that the award-winning director chose them as his children when he was still living. She claimed that everything that he worked hard for in the past is supposed to go to its rightful heirs–– Wenn’s children.
“Sa mga inaanak ko Gabby & Raffi Deramas ang lahat ng Pagod at pinag hirapan ng Tatay Wenn nyo ay para sa inyo at sa inyo lamang at para sa Future nyo yan walang pwedeng kumuha kundi kayo lang,” she wrote.
The actress added that she is part of the many people who won’t allow the inheritance to go to other people other than her godchildren.
“Hindi KAILANGAN ANG DNA TEST pinili kayo ni Direk Wenn marami kaming hindi papayag na mawala ang para sa inyo na pinag hirapan literal blood sweat & tears ang pinag trabahuhan ng Daddy nyo para sa Future nyo,” she added.

It’s been nearly a decade since the director passed away and the properties he left went to his two adopted children. Since then, his sister and several of his nephews and nieces filed for the recovery of ownership of his properties.
The CA agreed with the earlier ruling of the Regional Trial Court of Quezon City which previously ruled that the DNA testing on the director’s two children is unnecessary as it was premised on “such tenuous or insubstantial grounds.”
