Kapamilya actress Gladys Reyes just signed a contract with Star Magic as one of their artists on their roster of talents earlier today at the Dolphy Theater. The veteran star shared why she decided to sign with the talent management after all these years.
Gladys was previously handled by the late Lolit Solis for three decades before she made the move to join Star Magic.

She expressed how emotional she was because she realized how many years had passed since she started her career. The Kapamilya actress began acting at seven years old and since then, she has flourished in her craft becoming a household name in the showbiz industry.
“Kanina pa lang medyo na teary eyed na ako–– pero of course tears of joy. I realized lang kung gaano katagal lang yung inilagi ko sa industriya because I started when I was seven years old di ba. Since then, tuloy tuloy na yung pag arte probably because this is what I want, this is my passion. Sabi ko nga, hindi ka siguro tatagal sa industriyang 'to kung hindi mo gustong gusto yung ginagawa mo,” she shared.
Gladys added that despite signing with Star Magic, she’ll continue working with other networks as she isn’t just tied to ABS-CBN. She jokingly shared how she is a “Katrabaho” rather than a Kapamilya, Kapatid, or a Kapuso.
“If you’ve noticed, ang mga nagawa kong serye [is] not just with GMA but also with TV5 and may nagawa din akong talk show sa Net25. So freelance ako. Ako ay katrabaho nilang lahat. Hindi lamang Kapamilya, Kapuso, Kapatid–– katrabaho ako,” she added.
She then shared how excited she was to have new projects with the direction and help of her Star Magic family who has been aligned with her career’s direction. She claimed that Star Magic has been open to what she wants to do.
“Sabi ko nga, andami ko pang gustong gawin andami ko pang gusto makatrabaho siyempre na nasa Star Magic din. I’m looking forward to more meaningful and challenging projects to come,” she explained.
Her son was previously introduced as part of the Star Magic family as well–– which was one of the factors why she also joined the talent management.

“Maganda kasi nung napagusapan namin to ni Direk Lauren sa meeting… Kami mag ina, napakagandang isipin na magbe-belong sa isang management… Kumbaga yung paguusap niyo, direkta na. Aside from that, ang talagang naka pag pa oo sa'kin is yung naging paguusap din namin… yung direction ng career,” she shared.
With Gladys officially joining Star Magic, fans can look forward to the veteran actress in more roles and shows that would showcase her capabilities as one of the top artists in the country.
