Jericho Rosales revealed that he is currently developing a film project with his girlfriend, Janine Gutierrez.
In an interview with Julius Babao in his YouTube vlog, Jericho shared: "We are actually working together now. We are developing a story for film... I can't announce it muna but you know, we are working on a story, a film that we are developing together."
The actor highlighted that he and Janine share the same passion for cinema. "She recently attended a film festival for Lav Diaz's film, and she's telling me all the stories that happened there, and kung gaano siya kabuhay in terms of acting, so we share the same passion when it comes to [film]," he highlighted.
Jericho also revealed that Janine is currently producing a documentary about her grandmother, Pilita Corrales. "She's actually currently working with Baby Ruth (Villarama)," he relayed. "[It's] for a documentary about Pilita Corales. She's producing that. I am so excited for her, especially Baby Ruth, she's really a good documentary director. "
The actor went on to describe his relationship with Janine as "very happy." He said: "We're very happy. We're very supportive of each other... It's always fun times with Janine. She has a very nice family. Very great set of friends. She's also an actress so we got to talk a lot about our craft, our dreams for the industry, our dreams for ourselves, the roles we want to play," he stated.
Beyond acting, Jericho added that they also connect through shared interests. "We share the same passion sa food and travel, so it is in that stage wherein we are discovering a lot of things together, which is really nice. "
Jericho first revealed that he was dating Janine back in August 2024 during the press conference of Lavender Fields.
Jericho Rosales shared that he felt first the spark with Janine Gutierrez during a script reading.
"One day, I asked her 'Would you like to do a script reading with me?' That was, I'm sure she has the version of the story, but why would I ask for a script reading, when she's the only person I haven't worked with," Jericho shared in an interview with Karen Davila in a September 2024 YouTube vlog.
The actor recounted that he felt the need to do a script reading with Janine that time since they will be portraying as married couple in the series Lavender Fields.
"She was going to be my work wife, my wife in the show. All of the issues or the decisions that my character was going to do in the show is because of the relationship they have. This is not some easy working relationship," he relayed.
Jericho recalled that the work meeting turned into a lengthy conversation.
"So in my head, 'o coffee, script reading, and coffee'. So I asked her, I brought with me my iPad and then we saw each other at a cafe and then I brought my iPad out and then she started laughing and 'holy God, you have an iPad' and I said 'Yes, this is a work meeting.' So to cut the long story short, six hours later, we never got to open the iPad," he shared.
"It ended with like Japanese food at 3 p.m. and then she went to her lola Pilita Corrales and that's it. And I was like, 'Wow, I can spend six hours talking to this girl'... That's when I felt something," he admitted.
