River Joseph reflected on his newfound fame following his stint as a housemate on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.
"For me this is such a big turnaround din kasi dati siyempre before PBB kilala lang ako dahil sa mga roles ko, sa mga shows, pero ngayon kilala na ako kung sino talaga ako, which is River," he said in an interview with Boy Abunda.
River remarked that he did not anticipate the level of popularity the show would receive. "Dun talaga sa loob ng bahay we didn't know if the show was doing well, kung marami ba ang nanonood sa amin tapos paglabas namin, ayun nagulat na lang kami na grabe ang dami na palang may kilala sa amin at sumusuporta sa amin," he said.
When asked about his most memorable moment with fans so far, he replied: "Nung sa Big Night pero even after Big Night grabe sa lahat ng events namin, sa lahat ng guestings namin, sa All-Stars Game... grabe ang suporta nila. They always show up. Grabe ang pagmahahal nila."
River also shared how touched he is by the gifts he receives from fans. "I received so much gifts, so much letters from them and grabe sarap lang sa puso," he relayed.
River, alongside his duo partner AZ Martinez, were hailed as the 4th Big Placer of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.
Following his journey in PBB, River took to social media to express his gratitude to everyone who had been part of his life as a housemate.
"Thank you for being my family these past 4 months. Thank you for sharing your stories and being there to listen to mine. I will forever cherish all the memories we made and hope we can create more memories outside," River said.
The former housemate went on: "To kuya, thank you for believing in me and welcoming me to your home. Thank you for being there to listen, understand and motivate me especially in times where I felt my lowest. I grew and discovered more about myself. All the lessons that I learned from you is something I will definitely bring with me to the outside world.
"To all the supporters, I wouldn’t have made it to the BIG 4 without you guys. Thank you for fighting for me and believing in me. You are the reason why I do what I do. It is so nice to finally be able to see and meet all of you and I am blessed to have you guys 🙏🏼 this is just the beginning."
