Kapamilya actor Pepe Herrera shared that he restarted his fitness journey and is glad he made the choice towards a healthier lifestyle. He explained the reason he made the decision to do so in his Instagram post earlier this week.

Pepe has been doing not only strength conditioning but also Pilates as revealed in his post.

The actor admitted how fatherhood changed his lifestyle when it came to working out as he put more of his focus on his children.

“Nawala ang hilig ko sa exercise mula ng naging Tatay ako. Exercise na din kasi ang pagbuhat ng mga bata,” he explained.

This affected his body as he revealed he had back and hip problems that never went away since 2022. For him, this was his wake up call to begin his fitness journey once more to be able to alleviate the pain he’s been experiencing.

“Mula noong 2022, nagkaroon ako ng back and hip problem na hindi nawawala at lumalala lang. After several consultations, it turns out mahina pala ang glutes, core and back muscles ko,” he added.

At 38 years old, Pepe shared how important it is for his body to have the strength and flexibility as it could lead to further complications in the long run. His friend, Arwind Santos, who plays basketball professionally, shared that muscles change over time.

“Necessity na pala ang flexibility and strength training exercises for me. Sabi nga ni @arwindsotnas, kumukunat na ang muscles natin,” he maintained.

For the actor, this is not only a wake up call for him but to all his followers and fans to take strengthening more seriously as it could help them in the future.

“Magandang hapon sa mga kapwa ko Millennial na kailangan ng reality check,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pepe expressed his gratitude towards the coaches that have been helping him achieve the strength and conditioning his body needs. He shared how his sessions at the gym are helping his hip and back pain fade away.

“Kaya kahit mukha akong natatae sa bawat exercise, looking forward ako sa progress ng katawan ko bawat session,” he wrote.

Pepe is just one of the few celebrities who started or have entered their fitness era this year. Actress Kim Molina recently got into running and has been documenting her journey as well on her social media account.
