MANILA — It was indeed a beautiful moment for Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez as she received a golden buzzer at America's Got Talent (AGT) and a standing ovation from show's judges Sofia Vergara, Simon Cowell, Mel B, and Howie Mandel.
In the show, Sanchez, 29, shared that she was part of the hit show's first season.
She also shared to judges how her life has been after joining the first season, where she made it to the semi-finals.
“I was actually on the very first season of America's Got Talent," Sanchez said.
"Throughout the years I kind a fell out of love of music because I was really young, I was so swayed by what everybody wanted me to be, who they wanted me to be. And so, maybe it took me 20 years, but I know exactly who I am. And, I know exactly what I want. I'm excited to be back," Sanchez shared.
In the show, Sanchez also revealed that aside from being married, she is now pregnant with her first child.
"I found my lane and I'm married now and I'm actually, another surprising thing is I recently found out that I'm pregnant," Sanchez said.
She then wowed everyone with performance of Benson Boone‘s “Beautiful Things” and received standing ovation from the judges and the audiences.
'WORTH THE WAIT'
"I was saying earlier, the people that matter are the people behind us. I think they like you," Cowell said.
"Yeah, I got to say, wow, 20 years is a long time but well worth the wait. I'll tell you I love that song and you made that song your own, and you blew the roof off the place. You are so wonderful," Mandel said.
"Jessica, I'm so speechless. You've got a voice of a bloody angel. Beautiful. I'm lost for words," Mel B added.
"I think there's something very special happened on the stage with you. It's so amazing that we are on 20th anniversary, the 20th season of AGT. You are here again after 20 years, you are pregnant. So you are so beautiful, you are so ready to do all this... This was a special moment and I think that you deserve this," says Vergara before hitting the golden buzzer for Sanchez.
In 2012, Sanchez also joined the 11th season of American Idol where she placed second.
The following year, she released her debut album "Me, You & the Music." She also appeared in Glee.
