Zanjoe Marudo opened up about the transformations he experienced since becoming a father and starting a family of his own.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz for his YouTube vlog, the actor shared how fatherhood naturally shifted his mindset and priorities.
"Hindi mo napapansin nagbabago ka eh. [Automatic] eh... 'yung isa sa unang magbabago 'yung decision-making," he said in an interview with Ogie for the latter's YouTube vlog. "Hindi na 'yung yes ka lang ng yes sa lahat ng mga imbitasyon, sa lahat ng mga lakad.... o pagbili ng gamit o paggastos sa mga luho."
Zanjoe emphasized that decision-making is now collaborative now that he's building a life with his wife, Ria Atayde.
"Kailangan ko ng kausapin 'yung asawa ko si Ria sa mga bawat desisyon na gagawin ko. Hindi na siya 'yung ako na lang tapos magugulat na lang sila biglang meron akong ginawa. Partnership na talaga 'yung sitwasyon ko ngayon," he said.
The actor also shared that his sense of responsibility has deepened since becoming a parent. "Lumalim 'yung sense of responsibility dahil siyempre nandiyan na si Sabino (his son), may pamilya na akong sarili," he said.
Zanjoe believes that he will still experience more transformations along the road. "Tingin ko marami pang magbabago, mas magma-mature pa, mas marami pang pagdadaanan," he said.
It was in September 2024 when Zanjoe and Ria welcomed their first child.
In January, Ria took to social media to share her journey with Zanjoe since becoming parents.
"A little MIA but a whole lot of life and love these past few months. Thank you to everyone who has helped make it easier and a lot of more fun — especially @onlyzanjoemarudo 🤍," Ria posted on her Instagram page.
In her post, Ria shared a peek into her life with Zanjoe and their baby, from her labor to moments with friends and family.
Ria announced her pregnancy back in June 2024 on Father's Day as she penned a message for Zanjoe to mark the occasion.
"To the dad you already are and the dad I know you’ll be. Love you @onlyzanjoemarudo," she posted. "So excited for this new chapter with you."
