After they started working closely together in 2018 during her first major solo concert 18K, singer and comedienne K Brosas said there is no one else she would fully trust to direct her anniversary concerts than director and actor John Prats. The 49-year-old performer is currently in preparations for her July 27 concert 25K which celebrates her anniversary in showbiz and also her birthday on July 15.
“Nakakatuwa lang kasi nakahanda na ang banda at inaayos na yuung mga areglo. Alam ko na kasi, bago pa kami mag-initial meeting, meron na talaga akong plano, kami ni direk John Prats bilang siya ang aking official director. So nakakatuwa, nakaka-excite kasi baby ko ito eh, yung konsepto pati yung visuals. Pero siyempre malaking utang na loob ko sa tulong ni direk Pratty and of course, Cornerstone. Kaya sobrang excited ko.
"At saka 25 years in show business and it’s also my 50th birthday. Kaya dobleng sumbat. Kaya yung mga hindi manunuod, talagang sasama yung loob ko di ba? (laughs). So double celebration ito,” she shared with PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview during the Midnight Dream Studio launch in Makati City.

K admitted she is impressed with how John’s work as a director has been so successful.
“Ay sobra, biro mo yung pinaka-latest niyang ginawa na palong palo yung Sariling Mundo ni TJ Monterde. It was a very big success. Siya yung una kong director sa 18K na sobrang three weeks prior to the concert sold out. Siya yun kaya sobra akong tiwala sa kanya kasi sinusuportahan niya yung artist. So parang nag-co-collab, yung visuals, yung kung ano yung gusto ko, yung gust niya. So nag-ja-jive kami. Walang ako yung director, ako yung artista, walang ganun. Parang magbarkada lang. Nung artista, hindi kami nagkatrabaho,” she explained.
Before John started his directing career, K said they did cross paths in the 2008 ABS-CBN sketch comedy show Banana Sundae, but they never got to act together onscreen. Now, K considers John one of her closest friends in showbiz.
“Nasa Banana Sundae ako. 'Yung kapatid niya na si Camille ang nakatrabaho ko. So ngayon, sobrang close na kami. Pati ng asawa niya. Nagpunta nga ako nung renewal of vows nila. So sobrang excited kami pareho,” she recalled.
