Barbie Forteza shared what drew her to running, highlighting how it has become both a personal escape and a meaningful pursuit.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, the actress shared how running has given her a sense of control in an otherwise tightly scheduled life in showbiz. "I feel like it's something I have control of, kasi honestly sa trabaho po natin di ba nakalatag na eh," she said.
Barbie explained that running serves as her mental reset, helping her detach from the pressures of work. "Parang it's an escape from reality para sa akin, na 'pag alam kong tatakbo ako, ang focus ko lang is on my pace, distance, time ganyan. So talagang limot ko 'yung mga iniisip ko sa trabaho, 'yung showbiz," she said.
Beyond the personal benefits, the actress shared how running has allowed her to give back to the community.
In the same interview, Barbie also offered tips for beginner runners, emphasizing the importance of proper form..
Back in April, Barbie took to social media to share her first fun run experience.
"First Fun Run! 🏃🏻♀️🏅 So happy about today’s fun run as the proceeds of this event will go to the benefit of our children with cancer. It made me realize that running isn’t just a hobby now but a newfound purpose. I’ll be participating on more charity fun runs for sure!" she posted on her Instagram page that month.
