Actress Liza Diño-Seguerra expressed her grief over the passing of her mother-in-law Caridad "Caring" Yamson-Seguerra, earlier this morning, June 27. In an Instagram post, the former Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairperson penned a tribute for her late mother-in-law.
Ice Seguerra announced the passing of his mother earlier today. It was back in 2020 when his dad, Decoroso "Dick" Seguerra, passed away due to prostate cancer.

In her post, Liza shared how she still couldn’t believe what just happened–– her late mother-in-law was present at her 44th birthday party earlier this week.
“Parang nung isang araw lang, nandun ka pa sa Rampa, nakangiti, nagce-celebrate, nakiki-party sa birthday ko, kumpleto sa energy, ready pa ring sumayaw. Napakasigla mo pa nun. Kaya ang bigla-bigla po nito. Ang hirap tanggapin,” she wrote.
She then expressed her gratitude towards Mommy Caring who treated her as if she was her own child. Liza added how she was also a witness of how supportive she was of Ice–– recalling all the times she was present at his music gigs.
“Damang-dama ko ’yun sa bawat yakap mo, bawat tanong mo kung okay ako, bawat push mo na ipagpatuloy ko ang mga pangarap ko. Lagi mong sinasabi sa lahat na fan ka ng flamenco ko at lagi mong pinapaalala na dapat kong balikan ’yon. And even when I moved on to other fields, lagi ka pa ring nakasuporta. Lagi kang proud, lagi kang present,” she added.
“You’re one of the strongest women I know. Independent. Matapang. Masayahin. Ballroom queen pa rin hanggang ngayon. At the same time, full of warmth and generosity. You made everyone feel seen and loved and you inspired me to be a better mom to Amara,” she continued.

Liza assured Mommy Caring that she will be there to continuously support Ice–– just like how she did when she was still living. The actress maintained that the legacy and love her late mother-in-law had for them will remain in her heart.
“Hindi ko pa talaga matanggap pero ito ang pangako ko: I’ll take care of Ice. I’ll love him the way you loved him, fiercely, faithfully, and without question. I’ll guard our family with the same strength and presence you gave us all these years,” she expressed.
“Mahal na mahal ka namin, Mommy Caring. Magpahinga ka na. Magkasama na kayo ni Daddy Dick ngayon—nag-baballroom at Zumba together. Salamat sa lahat. Mahal na mahal kita,” she ended.
Details of the wake of Ice’s mother have yet to be announced by the family as of this writing.
