John Lloyd Cruz took to social media on Sunday, June 15, to share a heartwarming message for his son, Elias, in celebration of Father’s Day.
"Happy Father’s Day sa atin anak. Salamat dumating ka at pinatunayang pwede maging buo bagama’t hindi magkasama," he remarked in an Instagram post.
John Lloyd also reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to Elias, highlighting the depth of his love as a father. "Araw-araw,pinaglalaban ‘ko. Araw-araw kaya ko mamatay para sa’yo," he said. "Salamat anak. Wala na ‘kong mahihiling pa bilang ama. Enjoy ka today. [Happy Father's Day] to us 🥳❤️🦥."
The One More Chance star also took a moment to honor fellow fathers. "Happy father’s day sa lahat ng mga amang hindi sumusuko sa pamilya. Inspirasyon kayo sa aming mag-ama," he stated.
Elias is John Lloyd's son with former partner Ellen Adarna.
In a previous interview with PhilStar Global in November 2024, the actor opened up about how fatherhood has been a humbling and transformative experience.
"With Elias, I feel like I’m the one learning from him. I’m the one gaining so much. I’m the one taking notes. He’s amazing! Ang galing nung bata. Very humbling. It’s like I’m the child and he’s the parent,” John Lloyd shared.
He reflected on the most important lesson parenting has taught him so far: "Getting to know yourself again and again. That's No. 1. It’s constantly reminding yourself to just relax… like, you learn not to overthink too much. [It’s about giving yourself] chances.”
John Lloyd also expressed how eager he is to witness Elias grow and find his way. "I’m so excited to see what his life will become. Because his set-up isn’t easy. So, parang sa lahat ng mga tinitiis niya … for whatever he learns or experiences continuously every day, every week, I’m excited to see how he handles his decisions and things like that," he added.
For now, John Lloyd's focus remains clear: "To be there for my son physically and emotionally. I hope he knows I'm here for him."
