Growing up in the limelight with two celebrity parents may have made it look like showbiz was a logical path for Cassy Legaspi, daughter of Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi, and sister to her twin brother Mavy. But the twins have always been vocal about not really warming up to the idea until their teenage years when they were finally signed with the kapuso network at the age of 17.
In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN during the Allure Philippines magazine launch, Cassy shared her thoughts about the public always bringing up the fact that she is a splitting image of her mom, who started her acting career when she was 12.
“Actually, I take it as a compliment when they say I look so much like my mom or yung mannerisms mo is super like your mom. I take it as a compliment because I look up to my mom. And of course, although I do want to step out into my own journey and my own career path, I don’t think it should be taken as insulting eh. Parang I can be similar to my mom but I can also be my own version of myself. Parang ganun,” she explained
Apart from acting, Cassy admitted she is also interested in following in her mom’s footsteps when it comes to hosting as well. Carmina joined Janice and Gelli de Belan as co-hosts of one of the country’s longest running morning talk shows Sis which she was part of for six years. “I hope so because I genuinely enjoy hosting. I feel like para siyang second nature for me. I love talking to people, I love talking in general (laughs),” Cassy added.

When asked what people might be surprised to find out about her mom that isn’t seen onscreen, Cassy revealed something that her mom and brother Mavy have in common when they’re just at home.
“I think a lot of people know na mahilig siya maglinis. As in, araw-araw siya naglilinis sa bahay. As in, kahit repetitive, she’s always cleaning and cleaning kasi yun daw yung therapy niya. Na sometimes excessive na yung cleaning pero okay, it makes her happy so go lang. She’s very OC, yung mommy ko. Actually, pareho sila ni Mavy. Parehas silang OC. May parang routine sila na tuwing umaga, pag breakfast, when they go down the stairs, nag-aayos pa sila ng mga picture frame tapos mag-wa-wipe ng table tapos kakain ng breakfast. Everyday po yun,” she said.
Compared to her mother, Cassy says she is definitely not as big of a neat freak. “Sakto lang. Pero hindi naman ako magulo. I’m just not OC. Hindi ako OC. Saktong linis lang po,” she added.

What Cassy enjoys doing with her mom the most, is just catching up after the end of a long, busy day.
“Well my mom and I, we’re both very, very talkative, madaldal, very makulit (laughs) so I guess a lot of people don’t know that every time, siguro almost everyday ito ha, may de-brief kami. So we always talk for like, three hours. Ganun yung kuwentuhan namin. And I always update her and everything. So ayun. There was a time na nag-usap kami from breakfast or like brunch hanggang dinner na. Ganyan kami pag free time namin.”
