Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban is set to make her theater debut this coming June as she portrays the role of Phoebe in Ryan Machado’s Don’t Meow for Me, Catriona. She expressed her excitement on her Instagram account earlier this week as it marked another milestone in her career.
Angelica has slowly been making an acting comeback this year. She recently starred in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya where she played the role of BINI Sheena’s mother.

The play is directed by Toni Go-Yadao–– a three-time PHILSTAGE Gawad Buhay nominee and a two-time Aliw Awards nominee for Female Featured Performance in a Play. Angelica will be joined by Peewee O’Hara who will play the role of Reting.
In her post, the Kapamilya star admitted that she never expected to act on stage in her whole life. Despite her decades-long career as an actress, this will be her first foray into theater.
“Isang oportunidad na hindi ko akalaing darating sa buhay ko. Sana, buong puso ninyo kong tanggapin at bigyan ng pagkakataon sa entablado,” she shared.
Friends and fans of Angelica sent their warm messages and expressed their excitement for her upcoming theater debut.
“Excited for this! I am sure you’ll be brilliant on stage, as you always are. Break a leg, Ganda,” Iza Calzado-Wintle shared.
“Wow!!!!! Go Angge!!!! Rooting for you,” award-winning actress Joanna Ampil added.

Star Magic previously shared a glimpse of Angelica’s rehearsals for the play on their official social media accounts.
Meanwhile, the play’s writer, Ryan Machado shared how surprised he was after he found out Angelica was joining the team. On his Instagram account, he expressed his gratitude towards director Andoy Ranay, a close friend of the Kapamilya actress, who helped make it possible.
“Masaya ako na nagresonate kay Angge ang karakter ni Pibing at fanboying ako sa unang rehearsal namin. Jusko, Ang Pulubi ar Prinsesa pa lang, pinaiyak at pinahanga na niya ako. At para gampanan si Phoebe sa una niyang pag-arte sa emtablado? Surreal,” the writer shared.
Don’t Meow for Me, Catriona was one of the 2025 Virgin Labfest plays this year.
