After moving to the US where she has been based with her non-showbiz husband, Ryan Crisostomo, and their three kids, Chelsea, River, and Bella, singer Carol Banawa looked back on the unforgettable milestones in her nursing journey.

In her social media post last May 18, Carol wrote, “5.10.2025, I received my Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree. It’s hard to put into words what this moment means to me. My nursing journey began in 2005 in Arizona, as a Certified Nurse Aide. In 2010, I earned my Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate. I continued my path in Virginia, where I completed my Associate Degree in Nursing in 2018 and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020.”

The 44-year-old singer, who first got into showbiz via ABS-CBN’s '90s child-oriented show Ang TV, recalled how she started studying for her master’s degree in 2020.

“When I began my master’s degree, the world was shutting down. The pandemic had just begun, and I was pregnant with Bella. Balancing pregnancy, parenting, and a rigorous academic program during such uncertain times was far from easy. There were sleepless nights, long study sessions, missed gatherings, and so many moments where I had to say, 'not now, I have to study.' There were also moments of doubt, exhaustion, and wondering if I could really keep going. But the dream was stronger—and I just kept going,” she wrote.

In her post, Carol also thanked her biggest support system which included her family and friends.

“I would not be here without my incredible support system. To my husband, Ryan —thank you for working so hard behind the scenes so I could focus fully on my studies. Your love, encouragement, and sacrifices made this possible.

"To my children @chelscrisostomo , River and Bella —thank you for your patience and for all the times you understood when mommy had to study instead of play. (Especially you, Bella—hehe!) Your hugs and kisses were everything.

"To my mama Celine and Ate Cherry—thank you for always believing in me, encouraging me, and praying for me. Mama, your help with the kids during those critical times meant the world.

"To my friends and extended support system—thank you. It truly does take a village, and I am so grateful for each of you who stepped in when I needed you most. And most of all, to God Almighty—thank You for this journey. This was Your plan all along. You gave me strength when I had none, courage when I was afraid, and peace when I doubted. This achievement is Yours.

"To anyone who is on a long, hard road—keep going. One step at a time. Dreams take time, sacrifice, and faith. But they are worth it. To God be the Glory! ❤️"
