Beauty queen and host Catriona Gray expressed how much she enjoyed learning the culture of Türkiye during her quick trip to the middle eastern country recently. The former Miss Universe winner took to her Instagram to share some of the things she learned about such as the art of rug making.
Catriona was in Türkiye alongside several celebrities such as Kryz Uy and Slater Young, among others for a promotional trip by a brand.

In her post, she showed how the weavers put together the different raw materials that will eventually turn into a beautiful Turkish rug.
“Loved the experience of learning about the art of Turkish Rug making. We were able to experience how the raw materials such as silk is spun, dyed, and woven on these looms,” she shared.
Catriona then shared that their trip to rug making was one of the highlights of her trip and would recommend it to anyone who’s into textiles like her.
“Such incredible attention to detail on every piece that takes months for one woman to complete,” she added.
Apart from the Turkish rugs, Catriona shared in a separate post about ceramic making in Türkiye. She expressed how much she learned in the quick trip they had and even bought some of the ceramics for her home.

“I super love learning about traditional art forms and artisanal handicrafts, so seeing the way that red terracotta and white clay ceramics were made by hand really captured my attention. It's an art that requires such incredible detail and skill that - of course it resulted in my first budol,” she shared.
During their trip to Türkiye, Catriona expressed her desire to ride the famous hot air balloons of the middle eastern country. They were unable to do so due to the weather–– flying the hot air balloon requires a specific weather condition in order to be lifted.
Despite this, they made sure to make the most of their time in Türkiye by going around several tourist destinations which included underground cities and going to the mountains of Cappadocia.
