Actresses Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Solenn Heussaff shared their fashion essentials and styling advice during global fashion brand Uniqlo’s Spring/Summer Collection Preview.
Emphasizing the advantage of sticking to basics, Jasmine began, “Stick to basics [is] number 1, because when you stick to basics, you can mix and match your whole wardrobe.” Next, she recommended keeping it simple, so as not to overthink outfits. “Number 2, if you keep it simple and chic, that’s probably the best way to go when you’re overthinking it. Because sometimes we overthink our outfits. Simplicity is the best talaga as in anywhere pwede ‘yan bumagay,” she said.
Comfort is also a priority for Jasmine, saying, “Number 3, if it’s not comfortable, don’t wear it. Because wherever you go, kahit anong ginagawa mo, iisipin mo ‘yung sinusuot mo kapag hindi ka kumportable so make sure you’re comfortable in how you look and what you feel.”

What’s a fashion must-have she cannot live without? “Probably a white tee,” the 30-year-old television and film actress answered. Sharing how different pieces can be paired with a white tee, she added, “You can style a white tee shirt in anyway you can with shorts, pants, skort, long skirt, even with a dress on top of it so talagang it’s so versatile that I think everyone should have their go-to white tee or maybe even multiple, different styles ng cuts ng white tee natin.”
Solenn, for her part, recommended that people go for pieces that work for them. “If there’s something that fits your style or fits your look, get it in all colors. Sometimes you’re hesitant but it will always be useful… I have so many tops then the same color, and I use it all the time,” she said.

Further, the model-actress advised, “Don’t be afraid to experiment but also make sure that you keep to your personality.”
As for her top fashion must-have, Solenn shared her love for wearing jeans. “I love jeans. I wear jeans all the time even if it’s hot outside. I mean especially nowadays with all the innovations of fabrics and materials, it’s very easy to find lightweight jeans… And jeans are something that you can wear again like when you wake up in the morning with a loose tank top, you can dress it up a bit more during the day, and then it can also be very classy at night with a tighter shirt so yeah, jeans [are] really very me.”
