Kapuso actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith broke her silence on her X (formerly Twitter) account to address the rumors about her alleged plastic surgery earlier this month. This comes after netizens took notice of an alleged change in her facial features in one of her posts on social media.
Netizens have been quick to assume that Jasmine had work done to her face, which the actress has denied.
In her quick statement, the Kapuso star acknowledge and contested the rumors, as well explained why netizens might have assumed she had plastic surgery done.
“I’ve seen the Reddit rumor and comments. No, I haven't gotten anything done to my face,” she wrote.
Jasmine added that she gained weight from her recent trip and has actually been quite emotional for several days due to an undisclosed reason. Through her statement, the actress hoped that netizens would stop assuming about her appearance.
“I have gained 6kgs from my recent trip to Australia and have been crying on and off for a few days,” she revealed.
She admitted how taxing it is to read the comments made about her appearance even though she had nothing done.
“I gain a little and apparently I got botched work done, I lose a little and I’ve got an eating problem. Not trying to win over anyone but it’s bothersome to read the comments,” she ended.
Fans of Jasmine were quick to defend and show their support in the reply section of her post. Other netizens shared how social media has been so negative towards celebrities despite pleas for being more compassionate.
“Hugs, jasmine! 🫂 Kahit anong gawin people will always have something to say about a woman's body, and I know you know this already, but you deserve way better than to be subjected to that unwarranted scrutiny. Love you,” a fan wrote.
