Kim Chiu has returned to social media with a quiet but powerful message, posting her first Instagram reel on December 4 after announcing that she has filed a legal complaint against her sister, Lakambini Chiu.
In the video, Kim compiled personal clips of herself watching the sunlight shining through trees, her running by the shoreline, and gazing at the sunset. The reel used an audio by Jess Baird, speaking of inner strength pushed to its limits.
“I dream of never being called ‘strong’ again. I’m exhausted by strength.
“I want support. I want love. I want understanding.
“Not patted on the back for how well I take a hit.”
She accompanied the post with an emoji caption: “🤍🙏🏻✨,” leaving the message speak for itself.
Friends and fans quickly filled the comments section with messages of comfort and encouragement.
“Please know that nasa prayer ka naming pamilya Miga , and lab na lab kita ha♥️,” wrote Melai Cantiveros.
One fan shared: “You will always be my Kim Chiu. My forever chinitaprincess. Just carry on Kim. Praying for you always. Tight hugs for you♥️🙏.”
Kim’s post comes after she officially filed a qualified theft complaint against her sister, Lakambini on December 2. Through her legal counsels Xylene Dolor and Archernar Gregana, Kim submitted her sworn statement along with documents and evidence before the Office of the Assistant City Prosecutor in Quezon City.

“Today, nag-file si Kim ng criminal case against Lakambini Chiu. We filed a criminal complaint for qualified theft. That’s all we can share for now,” Dolor confirmed, noting that the case stemmed from financial discrepancies discovered in a business managed by the actress and her sister. Her camp declined to disclose the specific business but said Kim’s supporters would likely recognize it. Attempts to settle the matter privately were made before the actress decided to proceed with a legal case.
Kim was also accompanied by her sister Twinkle and her brother-in-law during her filling.
Months before this, rumors about the rift concerning the Chiu siblings have already been surfacing, and fans have been referring to Kim’s bag business as the supposed business venture centered around the dispute. Dolor explained that the issue covers the current fiscal year and involves substantial amounts missing from Kim’s business assets. She also mentioned that Lakambini was part of the “management of the business”.
When asked how she was dealing with the situation, Kim shared only two words with ABS-CBN News: “Sobrang bigat.”
In a full statement, Kim said the move was an act of accountability and protection, not only for her company, but for its employees and the brand she built over the years.
“After careful consideration and months of internal review, I have made the difficult decision to file a legal case for qualified theft against my sister, Lakambini Chiu, in relation to serious financial discrepancies discovered within my business operations. This decision did not come easily. It is one of the most painful steps I have ever taken in my life.”
“As many know, I built my business ventures — with hard work, passion, and trust in the people I love. Unfortunately, substantial amounts connected to my business assets were found missing. These discoveries forced me to take formal action to protect not just my company, but also the livelihoods of the people who work with me and the integrity of everything I have built,” part of her statement wrote.

She added that she is choosing “transparency, responsibility, and accountability” not only for herself but also for the brand and all the people that supported her since the beginning. Kim is asking for understanding and respect in this difficult time for her family and hopes for clarity and fairness to prevail.
Lakambini, the eldest among the Chiu siblings, has long been seen beside Kim throughout her career. According to ABS-CBN News, Lakambini said that she is consulting with her legal counsel and will issue a statement soon.
