Taylor Swift is not yet done spreading kindness as the year comes to an end. Over the past month, the global pop star has quietly made donations to several organizations, most recently extending support to children through Nashville City’s Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital and the Kansas City-based charity, Operation Breakthrough, with both organizations confirming her contributions on December 30 (PHT).

Vanderbilt University Medical Center shared news of the singer’s donation on its official website, expressing gratitude for her support of both Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital and its Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program.

Monroe Carell serves as Middle Tennessee’s only freestanding children’s hospital and the region’s sole comprehensive, nonprofit pediatric health care provider, caring for more than 1,800 children and families each day.

According to the medical center, the singer’s contributions will allow hospital leadership to respond to evolving needs and focus resources where they can have the greatest impact.

Juan C. Salazar, MD, MPH, chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt Health and system pediatrician-in-chief for Monroe Carell, emphasized the importance of the timing of the donation: “We are so grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous gifts to Monroe Carell. She is a true partner as we strive to provide a brighter, healthier future for the children and communities we serve.

“These gifts are so timely — of course, it is the holiday season, when a hospital stay is especially tough. And we are also seeing continued increases in the number of patients and families who turn to us for care. This makes a difference for us all.”

Taylor’s gift to the AYA Cancer Program, which focuses on patients aged 15 to 25, will continue to support specialized care that bridges both pediatric and adult medicine. Debra Friedman, MD, MS, director of the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Monroe Carell, highlighted how the donation will strengthen patient-centered treatment: “The future of adolescent and young adult cancer research and care is full of progress and possibilities because of the generosity of donors like Taylor Swift,” said Friedman. “Her gift enables our teams to personalize cancer care for the unique challenges these patients face, leading to improved outcomes.”

In Kansas City, Operation Breakthrough also shared news of the Grammy winner’s support through a post on Instagram. Founded in 1971, the organization provides a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children living in poverty, while also empowering their families through advocacy, emergency aid, and education.

“Thank you @taylorswift for supporting Operation Breakthrough 💙 We are so grateful for your kindness and for championing creativity, education, and opportunity for our over 750 students!,” the post read.

The exact amount of Taylor’s donations was not disclosed by the organizations.

The singer’s ties to Kansas City have grown through her relationship with her fiancé and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, making her a familiar presence at games and a supporter of local causes. At the same time, her connection to Nashville runs much deeper. Taylor moved to the city at 10 years old where she pursued her music career, signed her first record deal on Music Row, and wrote many of her early songs there. Years later, Nashville remains central to her story and to the communities she continues to support.

The latest gifts followed another wave of generosity on Christmas day when Taylor donated more than ₱117 million to national organizations including Feeding America, the American Heart Association, and MusiCares.
